What do you all do as far as positioning goes? Sometimes I feel like my ds2 (only 8 months old) just doesn't want to be in the cradle position anymore. I let him sit UP on my lap today and he did a little better (other than the initial...um, what the heck are we doing, mommy? look)

(FYI, ds2 is crawling and cruising)

At that age, many times i had her straddling me, facing my chest. Or I would lay down on my back and she would lay on my chest and latch on that way.

We still do the cradle to start, but she takes it from there. The latest has been standing and basically turning upside down. I have to remind her my nipple is not taffy, it doesn't stretch that much.

Mostly I nurse while I lie on my side. Sometimes dd sits in my lap and nurses and occassionally she will lie across my lap and nurse.
If left entirely to her own devices she would nurse while standing on her head/doing various yoga poses/hanging upside down from my neck.

DS likes to sit next to me and nurse, I try not to let him stand and nurse, but sitting on my lap, rather than really laying, is pretty common. Both of us laying works well too.

I still cradle ds at 27 months. I can't stand to sidelie; I have practially no breast tissue any more, and raising my arm above my head sort of stretches it all out across my chest.

I pretty much nurse my 25 mo ds in the cradle position. Side-lying for nightnursing and naps. When NIP, he will sometimes sit on my lap facing me, so he can get his milk and still have a good view of what's happening around him

Middle of the night: with Boppy or side-lying
Eat and run saytime snacks: I sit cross-legged on floor, she sits on my legs with her feet on the floor between my legs.

Mine won't do the cradle position either. He likes to sit on one side of me and lean on the boppy. If he is feeling cuddly he will sit on my lap and stradle me, but that's not very often either. He also seems to like when I sit on the couch and he is on his hands and knees next to me.

My son stopped with the cradle position at 6 months -- he insisted on sitting up straddling my lap and facing me. Sometimes he'll cuddle into the crook of my arm with his legs across my lap, which is much easier for me, but sometimes he'll insist on standing up on my lap and bending down which is just weird. He has walked up to me when I was sleeping on the couch, picked up my shirt, and started nursing standing at the floor with my breast at face level. When we're on the floor playing, it's usually the cross-legged position ecoteat described. Nowadays we mostly nurse lying down, and unless he's going to sleep that usually means I'm lying down and he's doing somersaults or something. More than once I've had to break off the nursing because I couldn't breathe with his belly in my mouth and his diaper over my nose.

Sometimes she wants to nurse in the cradle position, at night and for naps we do sidelying. Sometimes she would rather do toddler yoga while nursing And sometimes I just lay on my back on the floor and let her nurse however she wants.
