My 3.5 year old daughter is all potty trained and everything, but lately we're noticing she is having a lot of daytime accidents. At least one per day and sometimes 3.

Is anyone else having this? Has anyone else figured out what to do?

I've tried talking to her about it but she can't answer my questions properly. Most of the time she has an accident its because she's too busy with something and doesn't want to be bothered. What should I do?

She's had a couple of accidents at preschool now too, and they said it was because she didn't want to stop what she was doing. Any helpful ideas would be appreciated.

Do you think she might have a bladder infection, or else something going on emtionally? Maybe a big change in her life or a problem at her preschool with a teacher or another child? Hope you find the answer.

We do have a new baby in the house. But it sure doesn't seem related. It seems more like she's just too busy to get to the potty in time. Not sure though.

When my ds did that I just started to watch him a lot more closely again and catch the signs of being ready & I'd ask him. After a day or two of doing that, he got back on track.

I think is fairly normal at this age- if it is accidents form wanting to finish playing with what they're doing and trying to wait until the absolute last minute to run to the potty and not making it.

This happened once to my dd at a friend's house when she was just having too much fun, and two of her friends had similar accidents at our house because they were having too much fun playing...

My daughter is doing the same thing. She's 3.25 and having at least one pee accident a day. Usually she's right in front of the toilet, trying to get her pants off, when it happens. I think she gets too busy to pay attention to her body's signals, until it's a dire emergency, and then she just doesn't make it to the toilet in time.

I've noticed that it's more likely to happen at certain times, so I now insist that she try to pee, or at least wash her hands, at certain times (like before we watch TV or eat meals). Just being in the bathroom to wash her hands seems to trigger the recognition that "Hey, my bladder's full...gotta pee!" without me having to tell her "GO PEE!"

Anna just turned 3 in Sept. and it seems overnight she was 100% potty. But she will pee her pants and not say a word to me. Most of the time it is in the bathroom, but once she was playing outdoors and came in and her pants were soaked and she didn't say anything! I am so proud of her for being so easy to learn. It is nice to know that others do this too.

I was just doing a search about this too.
My dd has just started doing the exact same thing in the last two days, and frankly I was pretty upset by it. But after reading the posts, I guess its safe to assume it's normal and another one of those "this too shall pass" things eh?

Dd seems to be doing the same thing, too excited or busy to go potty. Sometimes she tells me after she's peed in her pants, other times she won't (she probably really won't now after I yelled at her for it today

: ).

I've been racking my brain trying to figure if there was something new happening, but nothing comes to mind.
I'm going to try to watch her closer and "ask" her if she has to go potty. Other then that, I guess we'll just play it out. She has a pretty red bum though, like bum cheeks from wet pants the last three days, I hope it passes soon!
