I'm considering giving dd a daily vitamin. She's almost two, and still breastfed. I know she gets nutrients from my milk, but I don't know if it's enough since she doesn't nurse very much any more. Her diet leaves quite a bit to be desired, too. I try to give her healthy foods, but she doesn't eat very much and I'm sure she's not getting everything she needs there.

Another reason I'm thinking about this is that her pediatrician wants to do a blood test to check iron levels at her 2-year check-up, and I'd like to avoid that. If I could be sure that she's getting enough iron (like from a vitamin), I'd decline the test.

Does anyone else give vitamins to their toddlers, and do you have any recommendations for good ones to try?
