I need some help here.
I have a 2 yo who weighs 27.5 lbs. She usully wears hemp fitteds with wool at home, and bummis sww with a prefold layed in when we go out since it fits under her pants best. This has always worked fine for us.

The last 3 times we have gone out to eat, we have left with the chair and the floor wet. 3 stinking times, she has peed and it has leaked out her diaper and out her pants. WHY is this happening??? Once it was a Bummis sww she was wearing, another time it was a fitted under a wool soaker that my hubby stuffed in her pants, and another time a fitted with a wahm cover. So it wasnt just one diaper.

OKay, I dont really expect you to know the answer to that, but I think I need to get a couple good covers for her.

I dont mind some leaks around the house, she is usualyl in just a diaper alot too. BUt I need to do something for when we go out.

I hate that. Ds ha been on a all-you-can-drink diet for a couple of weeks, and we SOAK our HHs in less than an hour. It's been a struggle trying to find something for daycare. But that's off topic - I find a good hemp fitted with an Airflow on top will hold pretty much anything a toddler can throw at it. Airflows rock!

So is the cover gaping and leaking? or is the diaper just getting soaked?

Are you using fabric softener on your non diaper laundry? Are you washing your diapers in bio kleen or a F&C dteregent and using calgon? These are the things that have given me absorbacny issues with known workhorse diapers.

I use cloth full time and we go out lots. I would not be able to live without my baby softwraps. I don't know what Megan does with these things but I have never had a leak! Maybe beg at the tp

I think it might be the cover gaping. Its happened 3 times in a restaurant, so I wonder if its the way she was sitting that caused the cover to gape open...

Sometimes the diaper is soaked, sometimes not, some of those times I think she is holding it for a long time, then peeing ALOT.

I think I just need a good cover.

So I ordered a BSW, any other recommendations to try?

if you don't mind the red marks, i second the airflow - i've never, ever, ever had a leak with those, regardless of how lousy the absorbancy of the diaper underneath was yk? second to that, i'd recommend a stacinator so simple. we've had minor wicking w/ that due to the clothes being improperly put on (over the cuffs), but nothing to sway me from not buying them lol!

2 months ago we were in a similar situation......seemed to correspond with DD's latest growth spurt. She's the same age as yours and just a tad heavier. All of a sudden, she was peeing through everything and all covers were leaking. I stripped everything twice with no luck. I think in our case, the kiddo's bladder is just plain holding more. Toddler prefolds and wool covers are saving the day. With anything less substantial than a toddler CPF, I have to add a hemp doubler. And still my newer BSWW will want to wick through the legs. Hence a new-found love of wool.....it makes this problem obsolete.
