So how much chocolate milk is too much to drink in a day? I'm 3/4 of the way through a quart of chocolate milk. SOOOOOOOOOOOO BAD????????

I doubt that it being chocolate makes much difference than regular milk- I think in pregnancy its suggested to drink 24 oz of milk a day? (Someone correct me if that's wrong) But if it feels like the right thing to eat/drink, I don't see anything wrong with it, assuming you aren't doing it EVERY day.

Unless you're on a low-sugar diet (or doing this every day) then the fact that it's chocolate over any other "flavor" shouldn't be a big deal!

And a quart isn't a huge amount for a day...though you might want to add some water in there just in case you're dehydrated or something ike that.

Chocolate milk always sounds so yummy...but I'm actually lactose intolerant and not willing to spend the money on the "lactaid" version, nor do I want to take pills. So I just watch and (every now and then) drool.

I've tried chocolate milk though and it didn't live up to my hopes, so I try to keep that in mind.

Have you lactose intolerant folks tried chocolate soymilk? Very yummy! Sort of like drinking liquid chocolate. (I know not everyone is a soy fan, but I figure its ok in moderation)

I'm so envious! I had to get off of chocolate and it's just not fair.

me too. I'm particularly partial to Ovaltine. yum. And maybe it'll calm the heartburn.

I was going to mention Ovaltine!!! and Carnation Instant Breakfast! I feel like it's a great way to satisfy the choclate craving while still getting a few "extras", vitmins, protiens and such.

The only thing I would be cautious about is that chocolate can inhibit calcium absorption. So the chocolate in your milk can cancel out the calcium benefit. But yeah, chocolate milk (or soy, in my case) sounds t a s t y.

Chocolate almond milk sounds so great! I haven't seen that at our Whole Foods. Do you have to make it yourself, or does someone package it?

(DS is lactose-intolerant, so we usually have rice and almond milk around the house.)

I've loved choco milk lately, too, though I'm generally not able to drink milk. I save myself going overboard by only buying the individual servings of it instead of a whole carton. I think I might drink the whole carton, too, and that would definitely be too much lactose for me, even while pregnant! My whole family would suffer the consequences, I think.
