I just took an Answer brand dipstick opk, and it was pretty clear +. So I took another right after and it was -. Then I took a New Choice dollar tree one and that one was also -. What gives? I am on CD 23 after my first postpartum AF. I got AF 6 dpo and am waiting to O again. Thoughts?

Did you use the same batch of urine for all three or did you pee three times? It could be that LH was concentrated enough in your urine the first time, but not the others. I know that the tests usually tell you to hold your urine for four hours before testing.

Also, you do realize that the Answer OPKs are NOT positive if just a portion of the line is darker than the control but more than 50% of the line has to be darker than the control, right? As far as I know they are the only brand to be like that.

And, out of curiosity.... why did you take 3?

Oh I didn't know that! -Ofcourse I guessed you should probably hold it a few hours but I guessed 2-3. Still got a positive OPK, but that's good to know for the future.

That's not what I read on a website about them. It says it is still a positive if you only get one part of it darker. As long as there is a dark line in it somewhere, it's positive.

Not Answer brand... most brands yes, but Answer is specifically 50% of the line or more.

I'm also curious as to why you took more after getting a + . I've taken one at noon and then one in the evening to discern if I was still "surging".

Anyway, with the Dollar Tree OPK, if ANY part of the line is as dark or darker than the control line, it's a + . So the test line can be less solid and a bit paler than the control line as long as a portion of the line is as dark or darker. I posted a thread about getting my first + OPK and it a pic. The next day I took another and the test line was definitely lighter than the one posted, but was still a BFP.

Are you taking B6 and/or Vitex to help lengthen your LP ?
