I just realized that I have NOTHING ready for this baby. No clothes, no diapers, NOTHING. I figured I would wait until after my shower (next Sunday) and then see, but I am in a panic tonight. I know, this is my fourth, but I am suddenly clueless. What do I need????

Here is my list:

Diapers (at least 2 packs of disposables to start, I wont CD right away)
CLOTH DIAPERS--I better get moving, I don't have much left from my others
Carseat
New sling
CLOTHES--I don't think he will look good in pink
Waterproof pads for the bed
Nursing bras and pads

Oh my, the list goes on and on...

What is everyone else getting already??

I really dont have anything ready for mine yet either. If I have a boy I wont have hardly any clothes (just cause when Riley was a baby we were broke and all her wore were the little shirts and onesies from WalMart that come 3 to a pack) and if I have a girl I still wont have any clothes because its the opposite season! Oh well!

The only things Ive bought so far for this one are some new cloth diapers and a few novelty items that I dont really need - a few little homebirth and breastfeeding shirts. My mom is also ordering me a baby book that is targeted for homebirthed babies, so that will be neat.

I really dont NEED anything else. We already have a carseat and a sling. I would like to borrow a cradle from a cousin soon but she doesnt even know Im pregnant yet so I hate to call her and ask. Im kindof wondering how the sleeping situation is going to work out because EVERYONE sleeps in my bed and theres not enough room for a newborn! I dont want to kick anyone out either... :

Oh, something that I did want to look into is postpartum mama cloth. I have pandoras pads now that I love but I need to branch out a bit I think.

We still have plenty of time. Im not worried!

See, I don't know that I have that much time. If anyone remembers, my due date was pushed back to August 20 something, so if that is true, and I go early like I did with my others, well, I am looking at 6-8 weeks. Oh man, that really gets me all riled up. And little guy is kicking away, he knows when he is coming and he is trying to tell me...one kick for early august, two for mid, three for september???

I don't have hardly anything either, but I figure it's not exactly a crisis situation -- a lot of the stuff I need I can order online, so it's not like I have to go out shopping with a newborn if it gets to that point, I can just have it delivered right to my house. Which includes car seat, sling, and diapers. The clothes I'm pretty set for, I tend to choose unisex clothes for when they're babies. One thing you can do, which is pretty easy actually if you do it in the washer, is just to dye pink things purple or red or blue.

I've been slowly mulling over what I think we still need to get and organizing things (mainly in my head) as to where stuff is and where we are going to put it.

I have some more diapers on order. I was just looking through what I still have left from Jack's newborn days this afternoon with my mom. I'm pretty confident I have enough set aside now.

I'm set on clothes because I just have to pull out the bin with Jack's old newborn clothes. I'll wash them up when it's closer to time. Most of what we have are HannaAndersson zipper sleepers. those. They are so easy to get on and off an infant. I hate trying to figure out those snap patterns at that 2am diaper change. :LOL :LOL We only changed Jack into other outfits if we were going out. Otherwise he just staying in comfy sleepers.

I need to get a new carseat. I'm selling our old Graco seat and stroller set. I have a Peg Perego stroller that I love that I want to get the infant seat that works with it (so I have that additional flexiblity when we are out). #3 might love the sling as a newborn but I want to be prepared because neither Tori or Jack liked slings until they were much older. Once #3 is out of the infant seat, we'll probably move him into Tori's old RA and get her a larger seat like a Marathon or the equivalent that will last until she's older.

I need to pull the bassinet out of Tori's room (it is currently home to a bunch of her stuffed animals :LOL). Then I need to re-dress it with the antique lace skirt again and get the linens all set for it. It's a beautiful old wicker bassinet that both my brother and I slept in (and so did Tori and Jack) I'm putting that off until much closer to my due date. Partly because there isn't a lot of extra room in our bedroom and the bassinet will actually have to "block" my closet door. We've tried doing the family bed. DH does great, I get NO sleep : I wake up at every little twitch.

We know that eventually #3 will be in the same room as Jack. (hopefully we'll be in a different house then) But we haven't figured out the exact logistics yet. Jack will probably be close to 2 years old and we'll be looking to move him from the crib and into a toddler bed if he's ready and comfortable. Guess the futon couch will have to come out of that bedroom.

Still have my old wool nursing pads. them. I'll probably get a new nursing gown to wear after the birth.

I need to get a few more Mama pads. I hadn't really gotten into using cloth pads until after most of my PP last time.

I need to get a baby book.

I guess I'm pretty well set. Helps having had a baby only a year ago. Most stuff hasn't gotten packed away into... "now were did I put that" land yet. :LOL

Well, thanks to the goodness of others, we have probably enough clothing to cover the baby, way more than enough cloth dipes, and a couple of car seats. A Snugli, a baby bjorn and a Maya Wrap sling, and a co-sleeper off of eBay. We have nothing in the way of toys but I was just planning on making a knot doll anyway.

All of our getting ready is in the area of home improvement and rests mostly in Jo's hands while I am away at camp.

what I do have to do is decide on one of the doulas and send in pre-registration stuff to the hospital, think about what we want to have with us there, etc.

Not ready here either. I really want to switch to a home birth. I really should start preping for that. I had enough clothes, blankets, etc to start out. I need to wash them all though. (the washer is broken right now) I have the old bucket seat from the girls - it also needs to be cleaned. I've thought I saw it mentioned th at you could order new straps for them. Does anyone here know? I'm not sure where the baby will sleep. I don't sleep at all when we co-sleep. I will probably put the baby in the pack n' play bassinett to start. I really like the looks of this www.happyhangup.com but I'm not sure sh will agree to the purchase. I'd also like to try CD-ing but its too overwhelming for me to get into now. I've thought about asking the diaper fairy to see if I could get one or two that would fit dd to see if I even remotely like it.
We're going to try to install all three car seats on the bench seat of my van. The back bench can be moved into the middle. Then I will be able to reach all three kids. I should do a trial of this soon before I get too big. If it doesn't work we will probably remove one of the captains chairs and put the girls on the bench in the back and the baby on the remaining captains chair.
I should also start looking for a small gift for each of the girls from the baby.

Maybe I should start a list. -Kara

Due Sept 14th.

nothing ready here, either.

all the nb clothes we have are for a Spring girl...

we need a new infant car seat

diapers, pads for me, a new crib mattress (dd is still on the old one in her toddler bed and we are not ready to buy her a 'big girl bed' just yet)

We need a ROOM for the baby! LOL - ds was supposed to move to the third floor, but that is no where near ready yet... no rug, no paint on the walls...

I am beginning to get nervous, too. Dh keeps saying that we have lots of time... but then, he is a Libra and I am a Taurus - I am so impatient!

I can't post my list here, it's too overwhelming!!! We need another of lots of stuff, and new "twin" things, like a big special breastfeeding pillow and a special twin wearable carrier. And I don't have any girl clothes, though I do have unisex baby onesies and I'm sure clothes are what family and friends would prefer to get as gifts.

Only 3 months to go, eek! IF I'm above average, that is... Average twin pregnancy is not 40 weeks but 37... So I guess I need to ask Dh if he wants to buy a few items each month for the next few months, or if he just wants to do it all at once at the end?

I'm getting a carseat from my friend. I registered for new diapers and two new slings (I am such a sling junkie) plus I want to get a new custom made one from Kangaroo Korner - I like to pick out my own fabric. I need a baby book, but I'm snotty and won't buy one unless it has a midwife option, not just doc, and doesn't talk about bottlefeeding. If its a girl, I want some girly clothes, but won't know till after anyway!

I wanted to add that I'm going to try some of those rice paper diaper liners for the yucky meconium at the beginning, cause I want to do cloth from the start this time. Has anyone tried these before?

I'm just starting to realize how little we have and what am I going to do about it?!?! We have an infant carseat, baby book, nursing pillow, backpack carrier, booties, hat, foam bath thing, pp mama pads and um, that's about it! No homebirth supplies, diapers, clothes, blankets.... Just about nothing that will be necessary in the first days. I am waiting for our shower which is in later July, but my registry is quite empty, so I need to get on that ASAP!

Trying not to let myself freak over this,

Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!! Went to a dinner tonight with other couples in our Bible study group, and they were asking me about what we needed and whether we would want a shower before or after the babies are born... Yay! I'm so happy. I love a party, and I REALLY could use help with the stuff on our list!

How exciting Savannah!! I am having my very first shower of any sort on Sunday..I know, a wedding and three kids and NEVER anything. So I am excited. I was feeling like I was being a little greedy for being so excited about my own shower, but it is not really the presents that are the big thing, I am happy that someone (my wonderful neighbor and friend) cares enough to open her home and do this for me and the baby. It is also nice to have a time where everyone is there for the baby and happy, not like it always has been in the past....

I checked my registry and a lot of the stuff I really need has been purchased!!! Yeah!!!!
