So I received my gently used Maya wrap yesterday--was totally excited and a little nervous to see the color they sent me since they don't let you pick the color when you get a used one. I'm thinking it will be some obnoxious pattern or something crazy that I would never buy myself and guess what it was? Plain Black! : Can you believe it? I can't imagine carrying around DS in the summer in North Carolina in a black wrap--we will both be miserable! I called them and am waiting for them to call me back. I don't know what I am going to do--I was soooooooo excited. UGH!!!

I am sure you can trade that on the TP here. There is probably some mama in a less sunny clime who would be thrilled to have a plain black one. It may take a little while to find the right person to trade, but on the other hand maybe not. Last month I trade my MW for a KKAFP, within a day or so after posting.

I say use it now while it is cooler (I am in Chapel Hill) and THEN trade it! I actually thought about a black one just for the versatility. I do have a black Pea in the Pod - that's hemp fleece and I really didn't find it to be that uncomfortable in the NC heat this summer.

Or you can sell it on ebay - and there's a yahoo group for babywearing swaps - plus isn't there a buy/sell/trade forum on that other babywearing site as well?

I wouldn't worry too much about it - see how it goes. By the time summer rolls around it won't be like your baby is tucked down in there sweltering, but will be sitting up in a hip carry with the fabric under his/her butt and behind his/her back.
