OK, so I am an intense person with extreme highs and lows; but over 40 years have taught me how to control it reasonably well. But today, I am really crashing on the depressed side. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"><br><br>
After 7 years, last October, I got a permanent permit. This allows me to work freely, as opposed to at my specific job. Jobs that I am qualified for are rare, due to speciality, language, location. I have been actively looking, but the only realistic job I was told there would be 4 positions opening in Jan. So yes, all my eggs were in one basket, though not by choice. I waited 7 years, what is 3 more months. So I called today, but I really wanted a job at this company and I was nervous, and the person I was talking with was my old boss, whom I was referred to. We were, I thought, on good terms and I thought he respected my skills and technical ability. But no, no job this year in his department, and he wasn't helpful about referring me to a manager in another department. And now I feel depressed and physically ill. The last time I felt so bad was 2 years ago when DH was in the hospital. I am just venting I guess, because I am so surprised how much this affected me.

I'm sorry. Job hunting absolutely blows. Whenever I apply out I get so nervous and I am devastated when I don't get the job. *hugs*

I was also unable to work due to waiting for right to work. I completely sympathize. It bites when opportunities are so limited. It IS very depressing, especially if you are a person that feels emotions intensely.<br><br><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/hug.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="hug">
