lowdown:
dd had a mild cold that lasted about 4 days. just a little runny nose and that's about it. That went away, and then a couple days later dd started coughing at night. It started very mild- just a few little coughs and only at night, then has progressivily gotten worse. She's having several bouts of coughing at night as well as on and off coughing durring the day. I need some advice on 1) remedys for coughs and 2) what may cause a cough that progresses this way.
We've dealt with long lingering coughs before, but they've always come with nasal drainage/cold symptoms. This time the cold symptoms were completly gone before the cough began.
I'd appreciate any info anyone has on this!!!

Here is a good page on coughs:http://www.healthy.net/scr/Article.asp?Id=247

If you go to healthy.net in the childrens section you will come up with a few more pages by doing a search under cough. I do know that pertussis starts with cold symptoms, and once that passes the coughing fits start.Soudium ascorbate powder is good. I have used homeopathic remedies for coughs as well.
