Hi:

I know I really miss Trader Joe's and a few other Colorado Mom's do as well. A friend of mine who works for them said they take very seriously all the requests they get for new locations. So if you, like myself, wish Colorado had a Trader Joe's feel free to e-mail them

Here's the link if anyone wants to e-mail:

http://www.traderjoes.com/contact_us_selection.html

Then hit the menu item saying Location Request.

If we all send them an e-mail on a monthly basis, maybe they will get the idea.

Great idea. But I'd heard that they have issues with Colorado's liqour laws. And they apparently make a huge portion of profits from their sales of the famous "2 buck Chuck."

The issue is that they cannot sell on Sunday. They can get around it the same way Cost Plus World Market has done in Cherry Creek. You have one section in which you can lock off for Sunday.

They have a fair number of stores in PA and they cannot sell alchohol at all in those stores so it isn't a total stopping point.

Just hope the more they here from Colorado folks, the more likely they will open here

I think there's something more to it. I used to work at Whole Foods and I thought they mentioned something about the zoning laws in Colorado. There can't be more than 1 liqour store per whatever area.

But, yeah, It's not like TJ's wouldn't be able to find a spot that isn't too near a liquor store.
