I would like to move my blueberry into a big container. I am new to gardening and a few years ago, I just stuck in ground without any prep. It's not doing well as I only got 6 berries off it so far this year. I want to give it some good soil. Should I wait for fall to move it? Does time matter or should it be done for the season?

TIA

They always say to move a plant when it's dormant, but I've never listened and never lost a plant.

Blueberries won't produce well for about 3 years... so maybe your plant is doing fine...?

You can improve the soil without removing the plant. They prefer a more acidic soil that drains well. Rhododendron/azalea fertilizer is best--especially if you can find an organic one. There are plenty of things that will organically help the soil. Here's a good article on helping your plant's soil:

We bought a house last year, and the previous owners had planted 3 blueberry bushes. They said they didn't get very many berries at all -- they maybe got to eat about 6 berries. Well this year, I had 3 weeks where I was going out and picking a small bowl full and having that for dinner! I didn't do anything (fertilize, etc) to the bushes, and I think the bushes just got to the right age to produce.

I want to propogate some more blueberry bushes. I've never done this before. Anyone know how to do it?
