Not pregnant yet, , but I'm a birth planner!

So I think I have decided to have a HB with my midwife from 'back home' (NY State). She's the dopest midwife I know, and also, we are super close, because I was her nanny during my first pregnancy. Like we still talk on the phone, etc.

Where I live now, CPMs have to work under the radar, and the closest transfer situation is 40 minutes away. I would most likely do either UP (plus phone consults with my midwife) or prenatal with a CPM and just keep a chart for my back home midwife.

Back home, I can birth in a fabulous Yurt (belongs to my BFF) and work with a midwife who cares about me so much, etc . . . The transfer hospitals are 10 and 20 minutes away there . . .

The only trick will be getting my DH there in time . . . but my last baby came at 40 weeks on the day, so I don't anticipate crazy problems. Anyway, I'd just LOVE to hear from anyone who did a travel birth!
