We also had lots of Vitamin C. Warm baths with oatmeal--but not too long to be drying. Oatmeal to eat, and other non-acidic foods especially if there's a pox or two in the mouth. Lots of love and comfort and reading to.

My kids (and husband!) got through it fine.

Oatmeal baths ( I filled a old sock w/ oatmeal and tied it in a knot and squeezed it over the boys) homeade soup or what ever comfort food they asked for and we did use calamine lotion on the spots I spread a big sheet on the floor and we used paint brushes to dot the spots ( it kept their minds off the itching for a while

I'm possibly exposing today... Seems this is the time of year for the chicken pox, and as few and far between as cases have been the past ten years or so, there's no time like the present.

Good ideas so far! Please keep them coming. Or links to other info would be great too!

True calamine lotion (not the pink benadryl lotions) should just have the calamine rare earth and not a bunch of other stuff.
