Hi mamas -- with our upcoming move (from Durham to Cary) I am doing massive decluttering (or at least getting started). I am going to have tons of "good" stuff to donate -- lots of it I am sure I could get good $ for on eBay or craiglist but I have no time to deal with that. It's mainly adult clothes and household goods. With all the sizes I went through in the last 2 years I just have so much barely/never worn stuff as well as so many other random things. I am keeping kids stuff for another baby so I'm not looking to consign that stuff or anything. I shop at Goodwill and I know they take donations -- I know they are for-profit though and think the main service they provide is a cheap way for people to get stuff -- though their prices sure have gone up over the last 5-10 years. Anyway, does anyone know of a place to donate this stuff where the proceeds might go to a worthwhile cause? When I was in Chicago I drove a good distance to take a similar amount of "good" stuff to a humane society thrift store and felt good since they were so happy to get it since they don't get as many donations as Goodwill.
