Where do you wanna go this week?

(It's been a long time since I've started a thread! Someone always gets it first!)

We haven't been to Kids Together Park - do you think that's too spread out for our group? Or should we try it? And we might need the flag on Tinas stroller this week if we have anyone new lol...

Sounds good! Right now the forecast is for "isolated thundershowers". If it rains do we have a backup plan? I would offer to host, but that will be DH's only day at home this week and he needs quiet.

MJ, did you get that DC????

Yeah, we haven't been to that park since the beginning of our group! I love that park! Should we meet by the dragon again, or somewhere else?

I have no suggestions for a back up plan. I am no help at all.

MJ, did you score a DC??

I'm on the fence for the DC...I was the first to PM her and I told her to let me know if anyone else is interested... But it's $155...and I was *really* hoping to stay close to 100. Plus I REALLY want the one with trees that the other lady is trying to trade... I'm not sure how picky I can be?

And DH is set on a dragon

I think it's supposed to storm more in the afternoon.
DH is also off so before I offer to be the backup plan let me check his plans.

Count me in! I had a blast last week... it's nice to talk to someone who doesn't scream back at me. I'm going to be sad when my maternity leave is over and I can't go hang out with you guys anymore! We'll just have to do some weekend family get togethers.

YES!! Weekend family get togethers! You and I especially have to hang out someday with the husbands so we all can talk about the most important subject ever. Our current house stinks for hosting things because we have no yard, but hopefully we'll find one that is better suited for get togethers when we move in a couple of months.

MJ, did the person with the dragon one not get back to you? I'm keeping my eyes out. (obviously!!)

Yay!! We love new people! We try to meet around 9:30, but it typically ends up being between 9:30 & 10.

Hello! I am interested in learning more about your play dates. What are the ages of the children and how often and where do you meet etc?? My daughter is 5.5 and we live at RTP right at the Wake/Durham border.

My house would probably work for a family get together later this summer when things are a bit more settled. And once we get a grill. But we have a fenced in back yard and a screened in porch (but we have to get lattice up around the bottom before we host lots of kids... I don't want anybody pushing through and falling). We're also walking distance to the museum of life and science for the kids who are old enough to enjoy that.

My house is totally not kid proofed (Carhootel's Q shows me that every time he's here), but the backyard is great with just a bit of pooper scooping.

Well, I'm not really the authority on the subject, seeing as how I've only been once, but I'm online, so I'll take a stab at answering!

Meet once a week on wednesday mornings around 9:30 or 10:00.

I think most of the kids range from about 1-4? But I'm not very good at judging ages. But I think a 5.5 year old would get on just fine.

I am the newest mommy, and only a temporary member (going back to work in late june), with a one month old. So my kid doesn't play, but I go for the adults

We choose a different park each week (and repeat sometimes, I think). It seems like a lot of the parks are in the Cary area...but not always.

We live in various parts of the triangle. I'm in durham, we have some in CH, some in cary/morrisville, some farther east, etc...

They are open to anyone who is willing to drive where we are meeting! We usually pick a different park (or someones house when the weather doesn't cooperate!) We do this every Wednesday morning just check the NC tribe each week and we post where we're going. We aim for 9:30 -10

The kids are newborn through 7 when school is not in session. Usually it's babies through 4? My daughter who is a 3 (almost 4) would love another girl to play with! It's mostly boys that are 3+.

And honestly...it's more about us being able to get together each week and talk The kids have a blast no matter where we go - we just love that no one thinks twice when someone is changing a cloth diaper or breast feeding!

Welcome. The group is all ages, but mostly under-5s except for weekends and trackouts. We meet weekly on Wednesdays, typically at a park. Occasionally we meet at a museum or someone's house if the weather isn't great.

As a backup plan, we can use my house. DH isn't working from home these days. You can then at least see our new playset. If we don't end up using our house as a backup plan this week, I will post a save-the-date for next week.

BTW, does anyone have any pocket diapers other than bumgenius or FBs? I posted in the CDing section about this, but I need something with a higher rise. The petite toddler FBs seem like they will work, but I'm trying to figure out if there is anything else. Happy Heinys, knickernappies and kawaii have all been suggested to me. I'd love to take a look at them before I go and buy any. I wish the diapering doula sold pockets.

GreenPea Nursery sells pockets and AIOs. It on Salem St in downtown Apex. I can PM you more info or you can just swing by my house this afternoon and we can go together. I have a baby shower gift I need to pick up there anyway.
