Could anyone recommend which wool covers work best on a babe with a high rise? So far, we've liked the Aristocrats for nighttime, but I'm looking for something trim enough to wear during the day. We have a Stacinator, which is nice but the rise seems a bit low.

Any recommendations?

Your best bet may be a custom wool cover. The WAHM can get your baby's measurements in order to make the rise just right for you. I have a Hippobottomus wool wrap that is trim and has a generous rise. It's generous everywhere, actually. I use it at night over big hemp prefolds because it accomdates them well. So if you want a cover with a trimmer cut, I wouldn't get that one. It's important to find out how a WAHM cover is cut before you order. Some have really super skimpy cuts that don't cover much of anything well, and some have strange designs (the way the snaps or elastic is placed) and some are super generous or full cut, but not very trim. Some, like the Fuz Easy are kinda boxy shaped in front and tighter in the waist than in the legs. Try to get some recommendations here.
Whatever you choose, you should try to get wool jersey, though, if you can. It's so nice and stretchy and thin. I'd get a two layer.

hard to get, but my fuzbomb has trim fit and nice long rise, huge leg openings though, nice for my plump legged dd but I think these would have a bad fit on a skinny legged baby.

Heidi at sugarbums will do a custom fit with quick turnaround, her normal side snap cover is hugely poofy but she is very friendly and willing to do modifications.

My dd has a Phunkymama that has a very very high rise!!! We LOVE it and it's very stretchy and trim.

This is so interesting. I think my Patchwork Pixie covers are pretty low in comparison to Phunkymama and Sugar Peas.

However, the Patchwork Pixie is super trim. It's my favorite (I have four of them in my stash.)

Thanks for the advice, mamas! I'll check out all these covers and will be cruising the TP if anyone is putting one up for sale

I was also wondering, when we say "rise" in diaper lingo, does this apply to both the front and the back?
