I went in last night, b/c the contractions were crazy close and starting to hurt. (3-5 min apart one min long for 2 hours) Nurses checked and I am not in labour, but I have started effacing. They don't do anything here apparently to help stop contractions and I didn't see an OB, but the nurse told me to stay laying down as much as possible and drink. Like I hadn't been doing that already. I see my OB in a week and a half and I will talk to her more about it.

I hate going into the hospital, b/c the nurses always make me feel like I go in because I want them to get the baby out, when all I want is these stupid contractions to stop. So that was my fun.

Sorry, nugglemama, that you had the ctx, had to go in and then had to deal with the bad bedside manner of the nurses too...

If it were me, I think I'd call the OB and push for an appointment early this week. Just my 2c.

I would push for an earlier appointment too.

If you have to go to L&D again, tell them you would prefer your OB come see while your there, instead of them just calling him/her to get instructions. Im suprosed they didnt do anything to stop the contractions....they always give me a shot or 2 of terb, nasty stuff but it works!

I hope you get to feeling better soon, and im sending "stay baking vibes" to your little one!

I also agree about trying to get an earlier appt. with your ob. I think talking with her and expressing your concerns would help. Sorry that you had to go back to l&d.

kind of weird you didn't see an OB while in L&D!! I would push to see one if it happens again!
Hope you are relaxing & taking it easy the rest of the weekend.

I too have been to l&d twice this week for cx & resulting effacement! Have yours stopped or at least slowed? That's strange you only saw nurses. Definitely try to be checked by your doc! I hope they help you do what it takes to make sure your cervix stays nice and shut!

Even with drugs, rest, hydration I'm still having cx but my cervix is ok. I've started mag now too.

Stay put baby! :heart

I don't think my issues are nessisarily PTL issues. I started with the prodromal labour at 35 weeks with my last pregnancy. I went in closed and after 2 hours on the monitor and checks had dilated to 2-3. Everything stopped shortly after and I convinced them to send me home. I was back 2 or 3 times after that, but no other changes. I am just an early dilator over active uterus kinda person I guess. With dd 1 I was 2cm at 30 weeks and dd2 3cm by 37 and she was +1 station. DD3 I actually didn't dilate until almost 38 weeks and was quite happy. Where I am in Canada they apperently don't do a whole lot to stop labour if they really think it's coming. As for OB's I get to see whoever is on call at the time, even though I have a regular OB. Kinda backwards to be sure. I think I will just order an emergency birth kit try and track down the emergency delivery book and prepare for an unassisted if baby comes as fast as my last, b/c I refuse to head in anymore and be made to feel bad unless I am sure I am in labour. And at this rate the baby will be coming out or my water will broken. I will stick to the bedrest as much as possible with 4 kids at home over the next 4 weeks, thank god DH works from home and can take care of pretty much everything. I think the besrest is more for my comfort then worry about the baby coming early. Ugh, and DH wants one more after this one. I am thinking NO!

I am sorry you had to go through that. It is hard enough on your nerves to decide to go into L&D, and to not be given compassion and understanding...that makes it so much harder. Again, I'm sorry.
Try not to let your experience prevent you from going in again if you really need to. Remember that you might get a really lovely nurse the next time.
