Man, around here, when it rains it POURS.

First, this morning I got my test results back. See here if you haven't already read the thread. That sucked, though after a nap and talking to my mom and MIL, I feel like I can handle what's coming at me.

Second, I've developed this weird bronchial wheezing cough. DH has the flu and a really high temp. Right before my nap, I was lying down in bed, had a coughing fit, and (TMI warning) threw up, totally unexpectedly. The weird thing: because of all my digestive issues (we're thinking), it didn't taste like throw-up. There was no acidity to it. So I get to make a call to the MW tomorrow to report that, but it's bad news no matter how you look at it.

I remarked to DH (in an extreme moment of stupidity for pointing it out that trouble usually comes in threes.

Just now, after taking his temperature, DH dropped the (mercury, of course) thermometer. Having never dealt with mercury before, he threw it in the trash and left the bathroom, b*tching about how stupid it was to make those things out of glass. I have him in there now, doing a proper clean-up with the windows ventilated and latex gloves on, and disposing of stuff properly, but he's already tracked around the house whatever was on his shoes.

We're lucky the pets didn't decide to saunter in before he started whining about it or else we'd be dealing with dead animals. As it is, I'm freaking out about mercury poisoning on top of all the other crap we're dealing with. The DEP hotline says that pregnant women and children shouldn't use the room for at least 24 hours, and a window should be left open. It's (luckily) 40 degrees outside and it's our ONLY bathroom!

It's 11:30 at this point. I'm hoping this day can't get any worse.

:

Oh mama. I am sorry about all of this. I'm sending good thoughts and hugs your way. I agree - hopefully this means all the bad is behind you.

Is there any way you could stay in a hotel for the day/night today? I know you've already had the first night in the house, but maybe it would be a good idea anyway...

As to the non-acid vomit, I'm not sure if it's any help, but I've been having a lot of stuff come back up when I lay down that's similar, like non-acid reflux. So maybe it's normal? . Here's to today being better...

not all vomit is acid, take that from someone who still sees it nearly every day (and sometimes several times a day).

Wow. What a day. I hope you and your hubby feel better. Is there a way to test for mercury exposure? That would make me nervous, too. But there's only so much we can control

I hope today is fabulous. A lottery ticket is in order...
