OK, so this morning I was on the freeway talking to my sister on the phone. Suddenly, I could have sworn I felt baby movement!
It startled me so badly I had to stop our conversation and tell her about it. There have been a night or two lately when I "think" I'm feeling something, but then I just ignore it because its nothing real definite, plus I'm tired, lol!

Then during the day I started thinking about the fact that I'm measuring 4-5 weeks ahead. hmmmmm.....

What if...I mean...WHAT IF!!!!......I am possibly a month further ahead than what I think I am?
: Quite honestly, I don't see how it humanly possibly because my LMP on Feb 3 started out relatively normal, then a few days into it (when I should have been slowing down), I literally was gushing and losing clots for another couple of days. We were in CA at a friends house at the time and it was just awful.

What if I'm really due in October and 14+ weeks already, not even knowing it? I'm a little freaked out because I had a CT scan in January...I'll have to look at the dates....and I was also on antibiotics and OTC meds for a horrid cold and sinus infection during that time...and I was drinking more Cola than I should have been....... *sigh*

I called my midwife and let her know what happened. She's having me come in tomorrow to hear the HB instead of waiting til next week. I think I may press to have an u/s at this point, just so we can be sure and date the pregnancy more accurately. Hopefully she'll be okay with that, even though she's really quite conservative on doing them earlier than 20 weeks. I would really hate to be 40 weeks down the road, thinking I'm only 36 weeks, then go into labor thinking I'm too early! I just wonder if waiting until 20 weeks is the best way at this point to date the pregnancy? I've never dealt with this before.

I'll let you know what happens!!!

Wheeeee!!!
: I can't wait to feel movement too!!

I'm trying to "enjoy every moment" of this pregnancy, but it's so hard when all I feel is bloated, sick, tired, cranky. *sigh* If I was bloated, sick, tired and cranky AND felt little flutters in there, it would be so much easier to deal with the hard stuff!!

I hope you and your MW can figure out your dates soon. Earlier ultrasounds (12 weeks or so) are much better for dating pregnancies than the 20 week one is. With dd I had a 12/13 week ultrasound and it was right on for dates.

I've been feeling a few flutters every once in a while and I'm only 11 weeks. this is baby #4 if it sticks though. I've heard that the more pregnancies the earlier the mother notices movement.

I started feeling little flutters last week, I think it was 10w2d or 10w3d. It is an unmistakable feeling.

I felt Carter at 13w4d.

I would push for the ultrasound, and I'm generally not too ultrasound happy. Fetal growth really starts to vary the older they get, so earlier ultrasounds are more accurate. Let us know how it goes!

So here is my update:

We got to hear the HB!!!! It took a couple minutes, and man, my own heart was just thudding away with the suspense! Then suddenly, there was that wonderful little sound. It registered at 160 bpm.
:

At this point, we're still going to wait to do the u/s. I know that probably sounds really whacky to not do it now, but, I have to trust that this midwife knows what she's doing after 24 years delivering babies. Her thoughts are that I'm likely a month or so ahead of what I think I am, but we won't know for sure until the u/s (June most likely) I asked her if its still accurate to date the pregnancy at 20 weeks and she said "absolutely". She said its not a problem in second trimester, but definitely very hard in the 3rd.

So, I wait.

I'm still scratching my head about how its even possible to be any further along. She said its possible I was pg with twins in January and didn't know it, then lost one in early Feb. which would explain the bleeding that I thought was just an awful AF. She measured me today and I'm now 17 cm!!! HOLY COW!!!! The midwife said if I continue to feel things that feel like baby movement, then I'm definitely further along than 10w3d. So I'm going to pay attention to that (wish my life would slow down so I could sit still longer!)

I guess I'll just stick around in this DDC unless and until I find out I belong somewhere else. I just feel so much better knowing we've got a heartbeat. That makes all the difference now!

I want to FEEL PREGNANT! I almost feel like I'm lying when I tell people! This is my first though, so I am keeping my thoughts positive! I know I will be feeling him/her soon enough

I totally feel like I'm making it up!!

ShantiMom - how fun if you're really further along; you'd be closer to meeting your newest babe! I had no idea when I got pg and basing my symptoms off of when they started with DD I thought I was 7-8 weeks. The u/s said I was only 5 ... but I guess that gives me more time to prepare, eh? It absolutely sounds reasonable that you lost a twin in February and could account for the discrepancy in dates and measurements. Keep us updated!
