We are ttc #1. I would like it to be a boy but would be happy with either. Last month we dtd about 12 hours or so before o and did not get a BFP. So I should o this Thursday. Should we wait or just have some fun.

If you are serious about ttc a boy then you need to not dtd until 24 hours before you expect to o then go for it until after you are sure you o'd

Since sperm can live up to 7 days in good cm you need to make sure you do not DTD at least 10 days prior to O unless you use protection.

I got my ds through bd timing.

If done right it has a better than 90% chance of being successful.

Ahh I usually ovulate on day 14. So we did wait till Day 13 to BD. And now today My temp is high so I think I ovulated on day 12 or 13. Ahh. Actually if Just input todays temp for tomarrow it says I ovulated on day 12. Grr. But we also dtd on day 9. So although it wasn't perfect timing for a boy this month, maybe we will get a BFP.

When we conceived DS, we DTD about 3 or 4 days before I O'ed. We weren't exactly trying for a boy, but we were certainly blessed. GL to you!

When TTC my first son, we DTD two days before O. We weren't trying for either, just a baby. Just happened to work out that we didn't DTD right before. with my younger son we DTD right up to O. This time we are going to try a few days before O if possible. Although I know nothing is for sure. Good luck to you!

We have two DDs and would love to try for a boy next. (although 3 girls are great too!

Not really sure how this whole thing works but a friend of mine told me to DTD as close to ovulation as possible.

So all in all, we DTD 24hours BEFORE, 12hours BEFORE and 16hours AFTER ovulation. I am positive of ovulation because I have used OPKs and I had ovulation cramps on one side that lasted for 30 mins.

1) Can anyone tell me what our chances are for boy? (or did we do it too early (24hours before O) and the Y sperms are all dead, leaving the X sperms to fertilise the egg?)

2) Can anyone tell me what the optimal time frame is for TTC boy? (as in how many hours before and after ovulation - pinpointing ovulation is no prob for me).

Dont think we'll be so lucky to get preg at 1st attempt. So looking forward to any advice from you girls for next cycle!.

I think the 48 hours prior to O is best for a boy.

Also for your diet consider

lots of milk
red meat
bananas

We have 3 bio sons together, my dp has a son from a previous relationship also. He has the red meat diet down to a T. He also loves bananas daily. We have a very active sex life, so I am not sure when I o'd for my first three boys, we just had plenty of sex and had boys.

We are trying for a girl this time, so we have made a few changes, obviously.
