Just wondering...

We have been diagnosed with unexplained infertility. We have been TTC for 2 years now. At our appointment yesterday, our RE told us that he doesn't do ANYTHING besides clomid for couples with unexplained infertility until they have been TTC for 3 years. Has anyone else heard this?

He said the group of people with unexplained infertility have the worst chance of getting pregnant with any intervention including IVF because for whatever reason our bodies can't sustain a pregnancy. Hence, it doesn't matter how the sperm gets to the egg--IUI, IVF, naturally---you probably aren't going to get pregnant. well, you technically have a 3% chance after 2 years of trying. OH MY GOD. So he told us we have to try for at least 3 years to justify paying $10,000 for IVF which probably won't work anyway.

should I be happy that my doctor is telling me truth instead of just trying to make $$$ or should I see another doctor?
??????????????????
