I was horrified to hear the other day that a family friend's toddler pulled down the TV set on himself (it wasn't tethered) and perforated his liver. He was very, very sick and in the hospital for a week - and from what his grandma told me they're lucky it wasn't much worse.
We're starting to baby-proof - my son isn't crawling yet - but I wondered what you safety-conscious mamas have in your TV rooms. My son's playroom is our TV room after he's asleep. We have a typical 32" TV on a low stand but were already planning to get flat-panel model. What is the safest "container" for the TV I could buy at IKEA or is similarly widely available?
Thanks for any suggestions.

You can get straps to attach the TV to studs in the wall or to the entertainment center (and then the entertainment center needs to be attached to studs in the wall as well, regardless). They had one for flat panels at babies r us and there are a variety available for more traditional tvs.
