Are you in or near the Twin Cities?
Do you want to be?

Well, then you have found your tribe! Despite our diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and interests, two things bond us together: living in the coldest state on earth...and the love for our children which warms us. The weekly tribe thread begins anew each Saturday. Watch for the new thread on the main Minnesota/Wisconsin board.

Some of the individuals who post here meet weekly. If you are interested in attending a get together, please post your interest on the thread or send any one of us a PM. We welcome with open arms and minds the input of all parents, regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, political view, age, sex, sexual orientation, disability, etc

Where are you all? We're home from camping, full of mosquito bites & mud. It was fun, though we had quite muddy sites and noisy neighbors. Sorry more of the group couldn't make it.

My poor kid is so mosquito-bitten that our neighbor thought she had chicken pox. Oops. She seems unconcerned with them since we put some after-bite on them. And as I type this, she's scratching away. Oh, boy.

Laundry calls.
Hi Mamas!
Just checking in - have missed the past few wks so don't know what everyone's up to, but hope you're all fine.
Glad you got to go camping jessikate! Was worried that no one was going to be able to go. I had to work and attend dance recitals. Will catch you next time though, just wish that wackadoo could also.
Would not have been able to go but knew nothing about camping? Glad you had fun.
somehow my kids escaped the insect attacks that the other kiddos got...

snow--how goes work?

had a sunny day weeding and laundrying and unpacking, etc. kids are asleep early after a busy weekend!

almost time for 6 Feet Under (HBO series junkie here...)
Hey ladies!
Kind of OT but I was wondering if any of you know where I can get Mother's Milk tea in the cities. I've looked in the organic food section at Cub and at Wal-mart, Target... nothing. Any advice?

I would check any of the co-ops or Mastel's Health Foods in St. Paul on Snelling.

Good luck!

PS You're not OT -- so welcome!

Helen -- drool rains here as well AND mosquitoes. James is covered in bites.

Hi mamas, glad to see you all popping in. Dh & I hiked Wood Lake today, sans kids, it was lovely. Lots of woodland creatures, baby birds in nests, etc.

Anyone up for a park tomorrow noonish? The Midget & I are definitely going, pm me if you wanna meet up w/ us. If it rains we'll do the indoor one.

Don't tease me w/ the stories of your drooling babies - I'm drooling just thinking of holding your gorgeous babies!

WELCOME! Mother2Amaya, she's so pretty. I think I've seen that tea at the Linden Hills Coop & possibly even at Kowalskis & Lunds - they've got good selections too. Good luck

Willows - good luck w/ the dance recital week (we just finished up w/ ours tonight - whew!)

Work is good - I think "Annie" is great and am now working on "HAIR" getting it designed.

Amy I have almost a full box of Mama's Milk Tea if you want it. I think it was gifted to me from Jessikate. PM me and good for you hanging in there with the nursing.

We got our garden almost done. I am happy.

We went to a great concert at Roseville Park last night. And Jerry and Charlie got to fish and we had a picnic. Great night.
Amy-

I picked up my Mother Milk tea at Cub in Forest Lake. You might want to ask your Cub maybe they were out.

We're taking a year off from gardening! Dh wanted me to do it but he didn't want to help.lol I told him that wasn't happening so either we split the work or we skip it. It'll be nice to have a summer w/o worrying about the garden. And I think next summer I'll be ready to go- better then ever...especially after I read some gardening books.
I'm free!!!!!! O and I are enjoying our first day of summer vacation, yay!!! Now we can go do all the fun stuff that we want to!!! If you have to work, teaching is definitely the way to go!!!!
I am so thankful to have some time off to be at home.

It was nice to see Starfire and Oliviasmama as SG this weekend, we were excited to finally get out on a Saturday. Lately O has been sleeping about that tiem of day, so we hadn't made it in a long time.

Sounds like a fun camping trip, jess!!

willowsmama, we took last summer off too. this summer we're back at at, but now our yard looks terrible. All this rain has not been helpful for us gardeners!!
Also, I don't know if I told you congrats yet, so "congrats!!!" on your newest family member. (It has been a while since I've been here, hasn't it?)

Time to go make O some lunch. Any suggestions for a picky 14 mo. old?

We saw a great movie (DVD) called Green Fingers. It's English, hilarious and at the library!

Picky, ummm, no advice Becca, my sons eat just about anything. Have you tried "dipping" -- cutting stuff up and making a yogurt dip (with pureed vegies in it) to make it fun?
Good to meet Becca29 and see Olivia's mama at SG.

Look I got to a computer!!!

I start my new job today and oh so much fun already. I get to take ds with and teach 4 other kids. I need to find one more. So if any of you know of a Native kid between the age of 7 and 12 who would like to know about Original Native foods and gardening lead them my way!

Also I am hosting a dicovery toys party on the 27th. It is a sunday. If any of you would like to come that would be great!! PM with your address so I can send an invite. Not to gifted with finding the nice invite you all send by e-mail
.

Hope every one is good!!!

I have seen it at Seward co-op on franklin and 22nd in South MPLS. or any health food store/co-op should have it or the natural foods section/bulk foods area of the larger grocery stores may have it also.

or how do I get the microsoft fax to work on my computer? I get an error message that says 'internal MAPI error. defalt services could not be created. contact your administrator'

Just stopping in to say Hey.

Xav and Liv are getting along.
My mom is here visitng.
It was great fun to see becca and starfire at SG. That's about as close to camping as this city girl gets!

East side food co-op has mother's milk tea, too. They are new and they are my co-op, so I like to give them a plug.

So, Hey, who hasn't registered for the gathering yet? The time is drawing near. It is going to be such fun you all won't want to miss it, I promise!!
Here's a couple of probably really dumb questions... where is Eastside Coop located and what is this 'SG' you guys are talking about. I'm sure once you tell me, I'll be like DUH!!!
See less See more
Neither one are dumb questions! Sg is a place we meet up on saturdays around the midday. PM anyone of us for further details.
The east side co-op is in NE mpls on Central. 2500 central or something. I love it!
