How are my other lovely twin mamas doing? We haven't checked in with one another in a while and I've been wondering how you mamas are feeling, etc. Also wondering what you've got done for their arrival and what you have left to do.

I feel enormous (see my avatar for the latest picture)! I'm having pubic bone pain like I had with DD, only it seems a bit worse this time. It's the worst in the middle of the night and when I first get up in the morning. I'm not sure if it's from laying on my side(s) or what, but ouch! I'm not sleeping well and am having a difficult time eating. I am hungry often but get full after a very small amount of food. I know it's b/c my stomach is so squished and was advised to eat small amounts of food all day long.

I'm still on modified/partial bed rest. It's going ok. I'll be glad when I can be up and around more, though! Then the girls will be here and I will probably be longing for bed rest again.

I have another perinatologist appointment tomorrow to check on my cervix (: that it's still good) and a growth scan for the girls.

We had a baby shower Sunday and got lots of cute (Pink!) outfits and a double stroller and infant carseats. I still need to wash cloth diapers and get those organized. DH needs to sidecar the crib to our bed and finish re-doing the flooring in the hallway and in our room. I also need to pack my hosptial bag.

Can't wait to hear from you mamas!

I had a perinatologist appointment today. I’m 30w3d. The girls are looking great! They both measure right on for my due date and are estimated at 3lbs 6oz each. Fluid looks good, too. Baby A is breech with her head up under my ribs, Baby B is head down and nice and low.

The bad news is my cervix is even shorter than it was 3 weeks ago. Down from 24mm to 12, and I’m 1cm dilated. She said, “I wonder what putting you in the hospital on bedrest would do for your cervix?” I told her no way, I can lie down at home. There’s no way my kids could handle that much of a shake up. So, now I’m on strict bed rest. I can only get up to pee, shower for 10 min, or sit at the table for meals. I have to be on the couch, recliner, or in bed the rest of the time.

I go back Wednesday for another check of my cervix. She said strict bed rest for at least 2 weeks.

Prayers, good thoughts, cheerleading, etc all needed!

Thanks for keeping us all undating Lindsey. I also posted on the MoM's thread about your bedrest. I'm be sending you lots of good wishes- you can do it!!! I'm thinking knitting- (maybe get someone to come over and teach you if you don't already know how? or try knittinghelp.com) or reading some good books might help the time pass (if you can do that with kids). You sound really prepared for those babies- good for you!

My babies measured 4lbs 3oz and 4lbls 4oz on ultrasound on Wed at 31 weeks!! WOW. That's 1 1/2 weeks ahead- although I know u/s is unreliable for size late in pregnancy. Still I feel reassured that they're big and healthy. I've also got one head way down in the pelvis, the 2nd baby frank breech. So that's good too. I'm still going pretty strong. Having trouble sleeping like you. Hip pain and tons of getting up to pee.

We're still scrambling to get ready. Our kitchen and bathroom remodels need mostly only finishing touches. New windows arrive Tues. Then we have to trim them. We have 5 new doors we want to install too and want to tear down a wall in our bedroom and put in a new closet so we can fit a new king-size bed in there. And our basement (our business!) flooded and the carpet molded so we have to completely replace (and some of the wall too- AAAACK!!) We haven't had any baby showers yet and we have yet to get a 2nd infant carseat, nursing pillow, birth kit, diaper bag, pad for the changing table, etc. And we're still clearing out tons of junk in what will be the baby room and also in the guest room before we can set them up.

And I have continuing education to get done (WHEN?) and what are we going to do for Christmas presents this year? Sorry for the rant (but you asked) This is my world right now. Still I'm doing well- getting excited about them coming- when we're all ready.

bloomingmama--You sound so busy! I hope you are able to rest a bit before your boys are born. Thank you for all the kind words.

We were out of town this past weekend, so I am just now getting caught up on posts.

We have our next prenatal on the 12th. I am feeling okay. I notice I need to rest more and tend to get lightheaded and short of breath very quickly. I am also getting up more at night. And usually can not fall back asleep. So I go downstairs and have a bowl of cereal. It seems the boys get hungry and my body won't allow me to sleep until I eat

We still have a crap-load of stuff to do around the house. Dh has been working his tail off and hasn't had time to get stuff done. Its kinda getting me frustrated b/c I do not want all these little projects undone, but I am trying to be understanding of his need to work. He has his own company, so if he's not working then we have no money. So while there's steady work, he has to do it.

One of my good friends, who just had a baby 3 mths ago, calls me last week and asks if I am having a shower. I told her no, and she flipped out and apologized profusely saying you *have* to have one and told me she is throwing me one and to send her names/addresses for invites. I was feeling so low about no one throwing me one, I was soooo happy that she offered!!!! That will be on the 22nd of this month. We should get some great stuff. And a neighbor just today dropped off a huge box of baby clothes for us. Some of the stuff is brand new - a pair of Robeez, Gymboree outfits, etc... some really great stuff. So I am feeling more and more ready. Just need to figure out what [email protected] stroller to get...

I must have missed this! I am absolutely beyond huge...I am measuring 50 cm right now and at my 29 week ultrasound, babies measured 3 lbs, 2 oz and 4 lbs, 3 oz (2 different placentas-peri theorizes bc of my complete placenta previa, A isn't getting everything B is since there is less placenta on blood rich uterus vs my cervix). Definately still have my complete placenta previa, which hasn't moved a bit...and placenta accreta is still a pretty big concern as well-but nothing we can do until babies arrive. Babies are both transverse, but baby B likes to lay diagonally with head/butt up in my lungs whenever he/she can get the chance! We still don't know the sexes!

I am nauseous again (I think bc B is SOOOO high up there, compressing everything) and definately can only eat small meals. I also can't get to sleep at night, bc as soon as I lay down, I can't breathe and laying on my side is no longer comfortable (especially when babies are kicking at me in protest to move). A fellow twin mommy suggested I try an airmattress and I am definately going to give it a try tonight and see if I can have a little more success at bedtime!

Even with all the discomfort, I feel so incredibly lucky to be entering my 30th week of pregnancy with these babies! My goal as of now is to hit 36 weeks, and than every other day after that is an extra bonus! I am nesting like crazy, but I don't have the energy to do all I want to do. I can't bend over or even sit upright for all that long (I need to sit leaning back so I can breathe!) I am making little goals for myself (next goal is to pull out all the baby clothes and figure out what we could potentially use again-just waiting for dh to bring clothes up from the cellar for me!)

I am glad we are all doing well and continuing on with these twin pregnancies!

Sorry about the bedrest Lindsey...you are doing awesome though and getting so close! Just take it one day at a time...thats how I am dealing myself and I am not on bedrest, but SOOOOOOOOooo uncomfortable-sometimes I don't feel like I can/will make it to the end! Glad you had a great shower!

bloomingmomma-nice to see someone else with big babies! Everyone has told me "oh twins are always smaller"....yep, mine didn't get that memo either Good luck with the remodel...I wish I had the energy for such a project!

Christine-so nice of your friend to throw a shower! I secretly would LOVE a shower, but there are definately none in the works and I am actually throwing my friend a shower tomorrow. Thankfully I have most of what we need already anyways. I hear you on the breathlessness and lightheadness...I try not to go out by myself with the kids anymore, just bc it makes me nervous when it hits!
