Lincoln is really making some progress. He has been on steroids to help him get off the oscillator and within a day he was on the conventional vent. He is getting held now and is getting his own personality. We are weaning him off the steroids slowly to help prevent a rebound which sometimes in inevitable but we can hope for the best.

Pierce has a lung infection and it has caused days of worry which are far from over. He had surgery a week ago and his belly looks so much better. In about another week we will try to give him a little breastmilk and hope his belly is healed so he can digest his milk.

I have been having some issues with PPD and have gotten some help, joined a support group at the hospital and am keeping busy with the girls. Its helping some but hopefully in a few more weeks I will feel better.

Thats all for now.
I am glad you are getting the help you need! That is so good to know the boys are hanging in there. Before too long you will be chasing them all over the house wondering where the time went! That is awesome that you are able to hold Lincoln some, I bet that is just the best feeling. Thanks for the updates.

Thanks for the update. I'm so happy to hear that Lincoln is improving and can be held now - I'm sure that will only make him improve even faster! Prayers continuing for both of them, especially little Pierce. I hope that the breastmilk goes well when he's ready for it.

I'm also really glad you found a support group. It takes a while for meds to kick in; I hope they do soon and that you start feeling stronger emotionally too. You're dealing with so much, Aimee. You are amazing.

Can you believe it the boys are now 4 weeks old and both still here. Both are still on ventilators, however both are off the oscillator so that is a little improvement. As of this morning Lincoln is 2lbs9oz, he was born 1lb 14oz so he has put on 11oz in 4 weeks! He is growing so well now if he could grow healthy lung tissue we would be on a roll with him. He is now 13" long so not much growth that way. His lungs are wet and weak and he has chronic lung disease from the ventilator. He had his first eye exam today and has stage 1 ROP. Pierce is now 1lb7oz, he keeps losing weight for some reason. That puts him at 3oz of weight gain in 4 weeks. He has been through 2 surgeries and is really fighting for life right now. He is focusing on healing his tiny body so he can grow. He is too unstable for them to do his eye exam and his lungs are far worse than Lincolns. I have always worried about both little boys, but Pierce is in more critical condition than Lincoln. They have made some progress although it doesnt seem like alot.
