I've been having these twin thoughts off & on since week one. Maybe brought on by the very early "morning sickness" and weight gain, which I didn't experience with DD.

Does anyone here have twins?

When did you know you were carrying them? The u/s or earlier? Any unusual signs, that may be different from a singleton birth?

I think I may be having twins. My DH thinks it is just a fear, but I just have a feeling. My aunt sent me a pic of my grandpa and his twin brother the day before we tested. I said " I bet it's twins"!! We will see.

I had a twin pregnancy (it ended in miscarriage). I tested as early as the instructions said it would work, and the line came up dark and immediately. I didn't really notice anything else unusual; I remember being hungry a lot, but I'm always hungry a lot when I'm preg. I miscarried at 9 weeks and that's when I found out, so I can't really help with that.

Is this your second pregnancy? Most women find that their bellies "pop out" more quickly than with the first preg, since the muscles have been stretched out already. If that's the kind of weight you're gaining, as opposed to actual pounds, it may just be your looser stomach muscles.

I've suspected for a while that I might be pregnant with twins, but I hear that is common with second and third pregnancys. Many people think they are growing too fast the second time around and symptoms start early.

Today was my first appointment with my Midwife and my uterus was a little higher than it should be for 7 weeks so she tried to hear the heartbeat but no luck. I'm kind of hoping it isn't twins because that will risk me out for a HB. Not only will I have to deliver at the hospital, they make twin moms deliver in the O.R. But I guess whatever is meant to be will be.

i have the same thoughts but maybe it is just wishful thinking and then a 3 year old telling me i had 2 babies in there. 2 days ago i asked my ds if he wanted a baby sister and he said TWO!

i am sure it is nooooooot twins but i would really crack up if it were.

my ms is much worse this time but i am not having the insane migraines i had last time. it makes me think maybe i'm carrying a girl and that perhaps it was the testoserone that gave me the headaches last time (?). then again i keep telling myself every pregnancy is different. i am in no way one of those people who can sense anything about the wee one inside.

I think I might be having twins because I'm bigger this time (although I'm only 5 wks. I'm showing a little, last time it was 3 mo. before I showed at all). I have morning sickness too that I didn't have last time but they say every baby is different. I think I'm just worried b/c I know it runs in my family and its a high possibility for me. But I would listen to whatever little kids are telling you about your pregnancy. My cousin's 2 1/2yr old told me last time that I was going to have a little girl w/ big blue eyes just like her (before I knew i was pg) and I did!!!!

Tottally agree on the kid intuitions.... lol at least I'm hoping! The other day my 2 year old gave me a hug and said to me "i love you" (something she's never done on her own before) and then she went about her buisness and said "My baby sister loves you too"... lol we haven't told her she was having a brother or a sister, we dont know what we're having yet.

About the twins thing! lol... I was thinking about this today too and I also heard that you pop out more with subsequint pregnancies. I look pretty darn preggo right now. But the weird thing was with dd I KNEW I was having a girl... just something told me and my "mother-in-law" was sure also.... this time around i can't tell.... i can't place it and this morning she said to me... I cant tell... it feels like both, I just dont know.... you're not having twins are you? DP almost fainted lol but I'm pretty sure that it's NO on the twin front! lol

then i went to the doc and she said the test was blaring positive.. we're not planning on an u/s.. are there other ways to find out? hcg increase?? can a hb midwife do that blood work?

maybe large fundal hight? and two heart beats?? i'm not planning on the doppler.. we want to just use the fetoscope... well.. i guess we'll wait and see.

i have been thinking of twins lately.. who knows ... ay yi yi.. a 25 mo. old nursling and two newborns :

i guess it can be done... i don't want to lose my hb though ... luckily wi just past legislation that makes it legal to have twins and breech at home. but there is some wording in there about having to consult with an ob... who know how that wording will effect us practically. On a whim (before i found out i was preggers) i emailed my midwife asking how she felt about twins or breech.. she said if the twins where in the perfect position and there was anther sklled midwife she would try..

I'm really hoping that what my DS says is not true, when I ask him how many babies are in mommy's belly he says THREE I could not imagine taking care of 3 babies. My hat goes off to anyone who does!
