UCI's Department of Psychology and Social Behavior is seeking pregnant women for a research study. You are eligible to participate if you are:

1) 18 years or older
2) English-speaking
3) Early in pregnancy (near 15 weeks) or Mid-pregnancy (near 25 weeks)

This study will help us understand whether hormonal changes during pregnancy can be used to predict if a woman will develop depressive symptoms or postpartum depression after delivery. By participating, you will support our work which is targeted at developing strategies to reduce the incidence of mood disorders after delivery.

Participants will complete 3 sessions and will be compensated up to $190 for their time. There are three sessions, which will be conducted around 15 weeks of pregnancy, 25 weeks of pregnancy, and after delivery (approximately 9 weeks post). Visits will include interviews and questionnaires, standardized behavioral and cognitive tasks, and blood and
saliva collection. Overall, this study will take about 9 hours of your time. Further detail regarding each session will be provided prior to enrollment in the study.

If you are interested or have any questions, please contact Huna Yim at [email protected] or at 949-769-4633 for further information.
