A new-ish friend has a DC between the ages of my two little ones. THey live about 45 minutes from here so we don't see each other TOO often but we email a bit.

ANyway, they don't have much money, and a small apt, so when my eldest outgrew the bouncy seat, we lent them ours. SHe returned it a week after I requested it back and borrowed our exersaucer.

(yes, I am aware that these gizmos are neither AP NOR developmentally advised but I use them in the bathroom while I shower)

ANyway SIX weeks ago I asked for the exersaucer back - which wasn't a big deal because her DD is walking now and can't use it. But a big deal for me because DS has outgrown the bouncy seat

The reply " well, I'll be down your way in three weeks, I'll drop it off then"
THREE weeks is a long time to wait for a 4 month old! BUt I shrugged it off.

Then three weeks came and it got delayed another week..and she was to drop it off on Sat. Sat afternoon came, and I got a call "um, how about Sunday... no major explanation, just a convinience thing

Sunday came and went.... no call. No email.

So, I emailed her.. and she claimed "busy..." I GET busy, I have two kids but come on!

It's now 6 weeks and we need the darn thing. My DH uses it on weekends for a few moments at a time and he is annoyed. SO he planned on going out of his way to pick it up this morning at her office. We were all set and I got an email "I'm on my way to vacation.. I thought you wanted to pick it up YESTERDAY so I brought it to work with me.. I guesss I messed up the date"

Now It will be SEVEN weeks.

I think i'm headed to goodwill to buy one there.. i'm tempted to send her a bill

ask her to leave it outside before she leaves and go pick it up! or ask her to leave you a key so you can get it and return the key to her when she gets back. tell her you need it NOW and you can't wait.

i don't loan out stuff anymore unless i expect to not get it back. :
