I had 4 extractions done on Thursday, 2 on each side and I'm pretty sure I've got at least 1 dry socket on each side<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"> Dentist office is closed until tomorrow and I can't even get seen until late tomorrow afternoon if were lucky since dd6 has a Dr appt 3 hours away that we've waited 4 months so I don't wanna cancel (I will see if we can reschedule but its doubtful there usually so booked 3 months out) What can I do in the mean time? I have Vicadin but don't want to use it as it knocks me out and I'm home alone with the kiddos.<br><br>
sigh, just looked and the blood clot is missing off all 4 sites<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad">

Sometimes you just wanna smack Dr's. He told me to just come in tomorrow and there's not much I can do right now. Like most Dr's he's full of it! I knew something about clove oil and tooth aches but didn't know exactly what so I googled dry socket and found the mention of clove oil so I ran down to Rite-Aid and for $8 got the little clove oil kit and the pain was reduced about 90% in less then 5 minutes (had to treat all 4 sockets at 1 min a socket<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">)

Wow! That was some quick and wise thinking, I'm glad it worked so quickly. Good to know! Hope your recovery goes okay.

I am TICKED! I gotta get this out before I scream! I called the dentists office this morning and they refused to see me or let the other dentist see me since I'm an oral surgery patient I can only see the surgeon who did the extraction and he won't be in until tomorrow. ok, I can understand but I'm still ticked, the Dr said I needed to be seen TODAY and thats not happening and it's effecting my other dd's medical care! We were supposed to go to the childrens hospital for a pulmo check up for her this morning and yesterday after speaking to the Dr and finding out there were no rooms at RMH I figured I would cancel the appt and reschedule since I have to get this taken care of today and it can't wait. Well I called this morning to reschedule and explained the situation and get told that we'll be marked as a "no show" and the hospital only allows 2 no shows hospital wide and after that you get sent back to your primary for care. (Which means no care for us) In 6 years of going there I've never head of this policy! Thankfully she's never had a no show so we have one more chance but what happens when we use it? Were screwed! All because the dentist said I needed to and would be seen TODAY. I don't even have the option of rushing over to the hospital to get there in time because its an 11am appt and we would have had to leave by 8am to get there in time (170 miles away) and I didn't know about either until 8:30 and 8:45!<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/irked.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="irked">: To add to the fun rescheduling meant she won't get seen until JULY<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad">
