There's a thread going on my birth board on a popular baby site about a woman wanting to "educate" her husband about why they
should have their baby circumcised". I can't believe that I'm the ONLY ONE against circ! WTF is WRONG with these people????

I know, I know. It's just so wrong that they're cutting off part of their little boys' penises. I made that mistake with my sons 5.5 years ago and I've regreted it ever since. These are people who've done it before and see nothing wrong with it

I'm fighting this same battle and I had to come in here to vent. These mothers I am talking to are completely brainwashed into thinking that it's medically necessary. One woman even compared foreskin to a cleft palate!!

Have you cut and pasted stuff from this site? Like that thing that was just posted today, the 25 year old guy who was cut with a local and still felt unbelieveable pain? The transcript from the circ video? What do these people say to the AAP statement? What is their reasoning?

Those people would make me sick too. I'm an intactavist, but I can't bring myself to go into the lions den. I think I would hurt people.

I totally understand. I could tell you some stories from a birthboard I visit.

The worst is when they are very AP and very anti-CIO yet they see nothing wrong with cutting genitals for no medical reason whatsoever.

Yup, send Jen in. She's so articulate, patient and knowledgeable they won't be able to maintain their ignorance for long. I found her on a website for midwives and we've been cyber buddies ever since.
