I got a new knitted wool cover, and the maker said it was already lanolized. So I put a fitted on my son, plus 2 doublers and the wool soaker for his nap. When he woke up, the bed was soaked (went right through the wool soaker) and no only that, but the dye from the cover (red) was all over the bed where the pee was.
I'm so sad! I'm about ready to give up on wool already and I've just started using it this week

i am so sorry this has happened to you ........... wool is so wonderful and easy, don't give up on it.

two thoughts,

one: maybe it was just washed in eucalan and not really lanolized. so try washing it in baby shampoo, rinsing, then a good soak in lanolin and luke warm water. do not rinse. squeeze out the excess water, i roll mine in a towel too, hang or lay flat to dry...............
that might help

two: try soaking it in vinegar water to set the dye. then rinse. the problem with wool and dye is you can't rinse in too hot of water after it's knit or it might shrink. a wash in soda ash or synthropol might help too:
