This made me : I'll type out part of it since I know it's against the UA to quote it all:

Watching the news, it seems all you hear about is meth labs, drug busts, and how people lose everything because of drugs.

Why did we not have a drug problem when we were growing up?

Well, we did have a drug problem when we were young. We were drug to church on Sunday morning. Drug to church for weddings and funerals. We were drug to family reunions and community socials no matter what the weather.

We were drug by the ears when we were disrespectful to adults. Drug to the woodshed when we disobeyed our parents, told a lie, brought home a bad report card, spoke unfavorably of a teacher, and did not put forth our best effort in everything we tried.

Those drugs are still in our veins and they affect our behaviour in everything we do, say or think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack or heroin; and if today's children had this kind of drug problem, we would all live a better place. God bless our parents who drugged us.

In todays world, parents and teachers are not allowed to discipline.

I'm trying to forumulate a letter to send in, but I can't think of anything nice to say.

How about how some of those "dopeheads," as my dad calls them, are our exact same age and were also "drug to church" and all the rest, yet there they are, addicted to the drugs anyway.

It's not just kids. And how does he explain alcoholism and drunk driving? does the writer fantasize that those didn't happen back then either?

And then there's the little matter of historical fact that humans have been using narcotics and hallucinogens and such since time began.

How about all the statistics that say that kids who are spanked are more violent?

How sad that people really believe this nonsense.
