Hello

I have been looking for an umbrella stroller for my ds and I have read so many mixed reviews online. Does any one have one that they love? I am looking for one that has good sun protection and is easy to use. I really appreciate any advice.

Thank you!!!

Many Blessings ~ Rachel

I have a chicco and like it a lot. Nothing fancy but it's lightweight and folds up small enough to fit in my Corolla. I bought it at BRU for like $75-80 I think.

I like that it has a bit of back support and reclines. The canopy is decent. THe basket is small and hard to reach though.

We have a Soho Sport by Combi. My mom watches dd during the day and with her bad back and knees she couldn't sling dd when she was little or keep up with dd when she started to toddle. So we got her a stroller.

Anyway, my mom has used the Soho Sport for about a year now and it's really great. Just a canopy and a small pouch that holds a few things. It's light weight and folds up (with a shoulder carry strap) so it's good for buses and subway travel.

We have the red one...http://kidspalace1.com/combi_soho_sport_stroller.asp

kolcraft $17 at sears. best $17 ever spent. it is lightweight, compact & easy. no frills, just simple. a basic sun/rain shade and a mesh basket. it is holding up well too with lots of use. i have that and a bigger graco stroller which i use if we need more comfort. the umbrella is nice when there isn't a lot of room in the trunk or i don't want to wrestle a giant stroller.

I have the cheapie Kolcraft one. I paid $19.95 for it though...
We love it. For the price, it's an excellent stroller. It's reasonably sturdy, and has a carry bag and a removable sunshade. I can carry it in one hand easily, and it fits anywhere. I got mine at Babies R Us. I'm actually on my second one, because DD and I accidentally forgot it at the dairy one day. Since it was so cheap, it was no big deal. Just go get another!

We have the Jeep one. We got that one because we were going camping and we liked the wheels better than on the Kolcraft. I think it was $29 and has a shade and two pocket things on the side. We love it.

I don't know the brand of mine... it was from JC Penny... It works well for an umbrella stroller, but I would add that the handle bars are a little short for me (and I"m only 5'7") so if you may want to consider the handle bar height issue... When I push it I'm slightly bending forward... it hasn't become an issue, but if I were to use it frequently it might be uncomfortable.

The other thing is that my sunshade isn't all that great either. It does work, but I think it could be bigger. The one on this just has the flat shade that sticks out a bit. Plus my stroller has NO basket.

I think it was the okey dokey brand??? Honestly now that I've mentioned all this... I would recommend NOT getting this stroller. Seems like there are others that are more functional for the same price.

Good luck.

We also have the Kolcraft "Jeep" all-weather stroller, bought it at Toys R Us, I think, around $30. Great sunshade that can move to ANY angle, nice to have pockets at the side, folds up small, it's light, has a vent in back which is nice for hot days. Only drawback is it doesn't recline - which has not been an issue for us at ALL since ds hasn't slept in a stroller in about a year anyway!

We got a cheapie, but I hate it. The handle bars are too short and I have to bend over to push it and it hurts my back. I am 5'4" .... so my only advice is, make sure that the handle bars are tall enough!

i have a Savvy by Combi that i bought used and our son love, love LOVES it! it has a bar across the front that i think he really likes having there to hold onto. it is extremely lightweight and folds up like a regular stroller and then in half again so it's the same size as an umbrella stroller. it also has a carry strap and a small storage area underneath.

We have this one too and it's perfectly fine. If I could add something to it, it would be a reclining seat because ds used to have trouble falling asleep in it.

We have a Zooper Rhumba (now the Twist)
I love my stroller, and i use it for everything but jogging. It steers like a dream, has a good recline andthe new ones weigh next to nothing. It has larger wheels than most umbrella strollers, which means it handles bumpy sidewalks and cracked pavement much better.
The sun shade is nice and deep, and will shield baby from the sun in all positions, except when it is fully reclined in later afternoon. It also comes with a rain shield and a boot for winter.
If you are needing a stroller for lighter use, I have heard good things about the Jeep stroller from TRU. It just didn't look like it would stand up to my abuse.
