I've read articles on penises being twisted and I have a question about my DS. On the underside of the penis, there is that "line" that runs up the center. Only on my DS, it sorta veers off to one side then comes back to the center at the tip of his foreskin. My ped is intact-friendly and has never examined his penis, so no one other than me has ever really seen the underside. We don't usually go to Well Baby visits, and I would hate to make an appt if this is something that is normal.

That is what's called a "raphe" or "raphe line", and yes, it's perfectly normal for it to be off-center or to "wander". They are as individual as fingerprints.

The raphe is actually formed in utero - when the two "urogenital folds" come together and fuse at the 'peak' to form the 'tube' of the penis.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perineal_raphe

This is actually fairly common for the raphe to form with curves or zigzags. I don't know why. Considering all the other things that have to happen evenly and perfectly synchronized (think of lining up the eye's pupil, lens, and cornea - or the length of our fingers from opposite hands), I have no idea why these two folds have such a possibility to grow unevenly.

Anyways, it shouldn't have any negative effects - just another way we are all unique!
