I went for my wic appointment for this pregnancy and she weighed me and well I was expecting a large gain since I've been eating us out of house and home and... it said I was 240 lbs. which is really strange because my prepregnancy weight (granted this was on a different scale) was 253 lbs., and I had top go to my family practitioner because of a sinus infection around 5 weeks and I was 257 lbs. then. Even though the scales are not the same is it possible to have such a huge fluctuation? My husband and brother-in-law who lives with us can attest that I have been eating like the food is on fire. Is it ok to have lost =/- 17 lbs. in the first trimester (I'm 9.5 weeks) or should I call a Dr.? It can't be because of morning sickness because the only time I don't feel nausous is when I'm shoving food into my mouth. Oh and I'm definatly getting bigger in the front, I look like I looked when I was 4.5 months along with my DS.

IMHO the WIC scales are wayyyy of. They said my DD was around 44lbs when she was about 36. They told me recently I was 172 and both my home and the OB office said I was 156. Other offices have been the opposite

I wouldn't worry about it at all, even if it is right. Sometimes heavier gals do lose weight and it won't affect the baby if you're taking in enough nutrition. I wouldn't worry until the later trimesters if it keeps up. Even then I might not worry!

I know I have been eating everything in sight it seems -- like all day long -- and I have only gained two pounds.

I agree, their scales are wacked. They told me i was like 180 right after dd was born, and the next day I weighed myself on my scale and went to the docs and both said I weighed 160.
