We're doing this history pocket right now! It's pretty.. my boys are loving learning to count to 10 in chinese (not sure which dialect though!)

Also, this lady for $13 will mail you a packet full of Chinese items. I can vouch that she really will send it and it contains everything pictured on the page. Oops, it is $14 now.

Or, depending on where you live you can take my option
I'm going to hit the nearest asian grocery where they have all manner of chinese style bits & peices from coins, to lucky frogs, writing kits and chop sticks. I'm going to take the boys with me and let them browse and check things out as part of the fun.
I use History Odyssey so I had a base to start with in the Usborne internet linked encyclopedia of world history
Then I hit the library website & picked up some more books with lots of pictures and neat information that ISN"T in long story form...as my boys do not have the patience for SOTW
And books like Ping are awesome tie in's for 'fun' reading.
