Would you be willing to pay a fee if someone was able to stalk for you an actually get the item you were wanting? I have a friend that is an amazing stalker and we were talking about this. She stalks for other people but gives up her own time to do so. So what would you be willing to pay above and beyond the price of the item? I am not reliable enough to ever me a paid stalker but I would pay someone to do it for me.

I would definitely pay for that. I always miss the stockings! Great idea

I guess that it would depend on the circumstances, really. And I wouldn't want to pay extra for everything that I buy.

Nope, just seems kind of wrong IMHO. I would rather that money go towards something else, like a donation for an Aids walk or something. To each their own tho.
Just wanted to add, that if you want to pay for that no problem. Time is a valuable thing, no doubt there. Just for me, nope, I would not pay.

I guess whatever I wouuld be willing to bid at auction over and above retail would be what I would be willing to pay to stalk. It also depends on how much paypal I have. I really don't understand how those super successful stalkers do it every single time???

I agree! If someone does it for someone else just to be nice, I think that is fine.

I like it much better as a favor, or a favor returned. I love stalking for other mamas, because I know how it feels to really want or need something and not be able to get it time and time again. I love writing the pm or posting, "hey, I got you one!"

People used to joke with me that I should start a stalking business but when you think about it , it seems tacky to take money for stalking and I am sure the WAHMs would not want their customers to have to resort to that.It does take a lot of time and work so if you are not going to do it as a favor or to be nice then just don't do it.My opinion anyway.

Well it seems like if someone was able to snag all the goods due to whatever awesome advantage with their computer connection or whatnot, and then sell them for a higher price to whoever they did business with, that's reselling. And if the WAHM wanted to wholesale her goods to someone who would be in charge of who gets what, she would do that to a store or something. If she wants the items she makes to go to the person who is willing to pay the most, she'll auction them. I assume WAHMs who set reasonable prices and stock their store regularly simply prefer to sell them that way, and who are we to change things around?

I think it would be wrong for someone to buy em all up and then pass them out at a price of their choosing. Just my 2 cents.

I guess I agree that it is best done as a favor, but after a while with no luck it just seems like there is no other option. How is paying someone to stalk any different than bidding over retail at auction? So far, I have refused to bid over retail at auction because it doesn't seem fair to the wahms who could raise their prices. But I am beginning to wonder if I should just go ahead and pay?

Here's my opinion. Take it as you wish.

I think the WAHM stocks the store to give everyone the same opportunity. If you choose to stalk for someone, so be it, but I don't think its fair to ask them to pay for that. Its just a friend doing a favor for a friend IMO. I think if you aren't doing it just to be nice, then don't do it.

I have stalked for others before and have had other stalk for me. Sometimes successfully and sometimes not, but I like doing it for others. I don't do it to get paid.

I've done it as a favor. I would never feel right taking money for something like that.

Well, you can hire people to clean your house, and you can do that yourself.
And you eat out so that you don't have to cook yourself dinner, and you can do that yourself, too.

Isn't it just a case of time management? What is your time worth to you? But I do agree that helping others is great. I help others on these boards often and it is a good feeling.

Being a good stalker is a gift that should be used but not abused :

I think it is more then just time management.I think a lot of it has to do with the quality of your computer and modem. Why should those who don't have as highspeed have to PAY for help stocking. That is just mean.

IMO auctions are completely different. Everyone has a chance - it's just a matter of high you're willing to bid.
