we unschool..and we have been doing it all summer long. But now that in our area official school has started, I am nervous. We homeschooled before, but i believe that unschooling will work for us. It was a wonderful summer of unschooling. I have to report to the state though and IM so nervous that they wont meet the requirements. I hate having to answer to someone rather than letting my children lead the way on the path of learning. What do you mammas who have to report to your state while unschooling do? I dont want to make them do worksheets or read when they dont want to. They choose healthy things to do and educational things on their own...but I really fear that they wont meet the state's requirements. any ideas? thank you <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"> I really want them to lead the way....and i do write down every single thing they do on their own including things i do with them like hiking and identifying plants (today) and reading. But history and math---thats what worries me. i know in their own time they will learn, I trust that totally...but the state wants proof. I really wish I had gone underground lol.
