"[T]he president expressed frustration that Iraqis had not come to appreciate the sacrifices the United States had made in Iraq, and was puzzled as to how a recent anti-American rally in support of Hezbollah in Baghdad could draw such a large crowd."

A petulant, dissatisfied president is of course not part of the approved White House narrative on Iraq.

It shows what a frickin' sociopath this guy is that he has no idea why the Iraqis might be upset with the U.S. after we've been bombing their cities, cutting off electricity and water supplies, stealing their natural resources, raping their daughters, et al.

I love how the article also talks about Paul Bremmer's main objective from the President being that he should make sure the Iraqi govt publically thanks the US for sacrifices it made. Have we ever thanked the Iraqi people or apologized to them for the sacrifices they've made? ugh.
