After a 3-day move, 15 different hotel and family stays, toting 2 cats everywhere, and 1 crazy nomadic month, things are finally coming together.

Yesterday, we bought a car--the old diesel Mercedes I've always wanted--to comvert to biofuel. This week has been spent interviewing midwives. Next Monday, we move into our new apartment in Westwood (Los Angeles). The following day, my husband begins working at a firm less than a mile away. We are so happy to begin again, and awed at the quickness of it all.

In the end, my husband had only one job interview. We chose the first apartment we looked at. The car was on a whim, and I suspect we might choose the first midwife we met. In the midst of such chaos, everything has just been right.

I've been longingly reading posts about nesting and diaper stashes...and I'm so excited to finally get started!

It sounds like the stars have been aligned in your favor! I hope the good luck continues... we moved when I was 7.5 mo pregnant with my son. Granted, it was only a 5 mile move and no one had to change jobs or find cars, but it was still extremely stressful.

Enjoy lining your new nest!

Wow, sounds like a busy month. But I'm so glad everything has worked out so well for you all!!!

We moved when I was 7 months pregnant with my first, so I know exactly how you are feeling. It was only 4 hours away, but dh could not find a job and it was very stressful. In retrospect, we only lived there 2 weeks before he got a job, but we had no savings built up, and had been doing measly money-making jobs before that (thus, part of the reason we moved, the economy was horrible where we were at!)

Anyway, it will feel so good for you to start to get settled in. And it's really a perfect time for unpacking and resettling. It's fall, a time to start things over, and your're in your last tri and hopefully have the nesting bug, which will make it so easy to get your house unpacked and organized.

Glad all is well and you are back with us!!!

we don't have a car and don't need one (NYC) but if we ever do get one, we want to get an old diesel mercedes too, to convert to biofuel. kudos on that!

WOW! Moving to SoCal is no easy feat and the stars have definitely aligned for you.

Interestingly, we were spinning our wheels for years when I suddenly decided to move to NorCal and everything that could have NEVER lined up before just lined up for us then and we were able to move. To further the good luck, we moved within a few months to a nice rental house we'd never seen, a decent neighborhood, good friends, good schools, new job(s), etc..

Continued luck with your new adventure!!

Congrats on the new apartment, new job and new car, Mama! I'm so glad things are working out well for you.

I know you're itching to nest...but continue to take it easy, Mama. Okay? I gave birth to my dd1 (at 32 weeks) just 4 weeks after a big move. It's easy to over do it when there's just so much that has to be done...or SEEMS like it has to be done...

We'll only use ours maybe once a week, since nearly everything is within walking distance, and I've also got a Vespa/bike/skateboard. It feels really good to be able to live locally, and to honor our ethics.

Thank you; I seem to constantly need reminders like this. Fortunately, we've scheduled plenty of help. Tonight DH and his brother load the moving truck, and tomorrow we'll have five more people to help move in. All I've got to do is transport our cats and tell people where to put things. Nice, because the heat has been pretty intense here!

Is this one contraption, or are you just saying that you have one of each?
