: Hello all! I am hoping that someone among you might have the heart and situation needed to take on a sweet little Yorkie we have been pet sitting. Or know of someone or some organization that can help match her with a home.
Her name is Dottie, and is at least 8 years old possibly older. We don't know much about her as she has been passed from house to house for about a year now. What I do know is that she is blind in one eye and going blind in the other, her teeth are in desperate shape and her left front incisor is going bad from the looks of it. She is sweet, house trained, quiet (only barks at the doorbell), and perfect for someone without young kids or other rowdy animals. She needs a home with a family who has the means to see to her health issues (mainly her teeth) and who will love her. I would really like to see her go somewhere that she can live out the rest of her days without being shuffled around from home to home.
While we think she is a darling little dog, we just can't keep her. The fees for our house, vet bills, and other added expenses of a pet are just not in the cards for us right now. Add to that my 3 energetic kids are a bit overwhelming to her.
So if you, or know anyone who has the perfect home for her please email me off list or PM me for my phone number. I really don't want to turn her over to the ASPCA but if we don't find a home for her within the month we will have no other choice.
Thank you all for the inquiries and well wishes for our little doggie friend!
A friend of my husbands helped put us in touch with an organization here in PDX that matches elderly dogs/cats with elderly persons in need of companionship. They even pick up the vet bills for every animal they place! Hopefully by next week Dottie will be on her way to a new loving permanent home.
ooh yay, nichol! she really is such a sweetie and so deserving a peaceful quiet place without kids to enjoy her little life. let us know when everything is set...
