Lincoln is growing good, getting mamas milk, and gets some Kangaroo care when he tolerates it which is not very often. He was put on decadron to help get him off the oscillator and it worked, within a few days he was on the conventional vent and doing as well as he could have with the condition of his lungs. They have since started weaning him off of it and he had a little rebound and his settings went back up on the vent yesterday. He had his first eye check and has stage 1 ROP.

Pierce had his surgery 10 days ago and his belly has improved. The swelling is mostly gone however he is not ready for milk yet. He has been unstable all week. It has been a week of desatting and bagging him. He has an infection in his lungs and has gross secretions. Yesterday his sats started dropping, he spent 3 hours in the low 50's, before they jumped to the 60 and 70's where they have been staying so far this morning. He has also been moved back to the oscillator. His weight gain has been slow and he has only put on 4oz.

Thanks for the update Aimee. I'm glad Lincoln is doing well, but I'm sorry about the ROP, does that mean he'll need surgery to correct it? I'm also glad Pierce is improving and hope he continues to do so. I hope he's off the oscillator soon. Thinking of your little men.

Glad to hear that Lincoln is doing well and Pierce will get there, it just takes time. Sorry to hear about the ROP. My twins had stage 1 but thankfully it reversed with no intervention and their eyes are completely fine now.

It is a long, tough road but there is light at the end of the tunnel. I know the hours seem like days and you never think this is going to end but it does, I promise. Your boys are always in my thoughts and so are you mama. Hang in there sweetie........

As long as he stays in stage 1 (MAggie had this until she was about 2 mos old corrected) he should be fine. It should reverse as he gets older.

At this time he does not need surgery. It should correct itself as he gets bigger. From my understanding they wont consider laser eye surgery unless it progresses to stage 3 or 4.

Good! That's another thing neither you or they need right now.
