Hi Mamas,

Thought we could do a little update on how all the mamas and babies here are doing

I'll start:
I am now in my 32nd week. I went in for an u/s this morning & both munchkins are doing really well
Their estimated weights are now at 4lbs 4oz for Landon and 4lbs and 1oz for Alyssa. Landon (baby a) is still vertex and Alyssa (baby b) is breech, but my chiro started using the Webster's technique today, so I'm really hoping Alyssa will turn. Also, as of last week, the babies dropped a bit, so my OB did the test to see if I'll be going into labor anytime soon (dont remember the name), it came back negative
The u/s also showed that although my cervix is starting to thin out a bit, its still perfectly fine
The only major complaint that I have is the swelling of my feet. Over the past 2 weeks my ankles have completely dissapeared and nothing seems to help. Oh well, my lil munchkins are more than worth it
I've also been crazy tired lately, but luckily now that my classes are done, my only responsibility until January are my little angels.

Cant wait to hear how everyone else is doing

We're in week 28 here and things are going quite well. The little one has recently discovered my ribs and is having a field day trying to do gymnastics and work-outs using them. There has been so much movement everywhere I had my OB feel and make sure there was only one!!:)

Physically I don't have too many complaints. My biggest one would be my feet/ankles. First they were swelling at the end of the day, now the aches are creeping up towards noontime. My cravings are getting more annoying. I say annoying becuase they are changing daily and hit at me strange times. The nearest 24 hour store is more than an hour away so the notion of dear honey running off to the store in the wee hours of the night to satisfy my whims are out of site
I can't pre-shop since I never know what I want. One day it was jalapenos and bacon, the next day it was spice cake with cream cheese frosting!

Emotionally I am becoming a bit more nervous that I won't have everything done that I need to before she arrives. I have a list that is 10 miles long and only a few things crossed off. I am estatic however that I learned that my employer is willing to let me telecommute for around 6 months after I deliver! That is such a relief since we were trying to figure out how to survive on less than 2 incomes.

I hope you fellow October mamas are doing peachy too!

Hello to everyone! I'm relatively new here, so I hope you don't mind me jumping in. I'm doing well for the most part. I'm starting to have some swelling in my feet, hands and calves but it's also been insanely hot here in NE so I think that's a big part of it. I hope it goes away as the cooler weather comes. My only "real" complaint is that sleeping has gone out the window! For over a week now I wake up around 3am to pee and then I'm up for the day pretty much. I go back to bed but I can't get back into a nice deep sleep. Very frustrating.

Other than that I'm starting to look ahead to October and realize it's not that far away. I'm planning on leaving my job then and I'm trying to figure out when to give my notice and I'm trying to figure out what to do for DS as far as a preschool/activities go. I love his Daycare and he could go there part time to their preschool program (which he's in now) but it would cost us more than we can afford. Sooo, I'm starting to look at other preschools in the area and I'm wondering how this change is going to affect him too. I don't want to totally turn his world upside down.

Hope everyone is feeling well and the babies are all healthy and growing well!!!

Hello everyone,

I've been reading posts in the Oct. club for a while now, but I don't usually have much to say.

I'm due Oct 26, so right around 28 weeks now. Things have been going just fine here, no real complaints so far. The baby's kicking has been getting a lot stronger; this morning s/he (we didn't have an ultrasound and don't want to know the gender) woke me up from my dozing after the alarm clock rang with a huge double kick: bam, BAM! ouch!

We have some things ready, but people are giving us two showers in the next couple weeks/month, so we're waiting to see what we're given before finishing the preparations.

Thanks for letting me share and I hope everyone else is doing well!

Kate

In the last few days I am finding myself exausted...I don't know if it's from trying to do too much in the past several weeks or if it's from the heat or if it's just this stage of pregnancy. I can't seem to get enough sleep at night & feel like I need a nap every day. Unfortunately trying to sleep during the day in a house with 5 children is next to impossible.

I still have so much that needs to be done before the baby is born...I'm trying to make a list so that each day I can cross at least one task off it (and thus feel some satisfaction in knowing that I've accomplished something)

My hips hurt...my lower back hurts...I've been having a lot of headaches in the last few days (I'm trying to increase my water intake...cause I think they're due to the heat)

The baby seems to be pretty active & enjoying stretching out...often with some part of her body well up under my ribs...pushing them out.

I've had a lot of braxton hicks ctx...but that's really normal for someone expecting their 6th baby.

At this point I'm really looking forward to meeting her & seeing who she's like...
I'm pretty sure that I'll be having this baby next month...September...although the ultrasound due date is Oct 2...& my midwives are sticking with Oct 7 for some reason...I know that I'm due the last week of September...and because all of my girls have been early (37, 38, 36 &38 weeks) I highly doubt that I'll go much past the middle of September. (Just watch...now I'll be 2 weeks late & give birth the middle of October

I'm almost 28 weeks, I've been doing great lately. The exhaustion has eased up finally, the last two nights I've actually been able to stay awake until 11pm. I'm not getting anything crossed off on my list, I have all these outside projects to do, but it keeps raining everyday. The only thing that has been bothering me is my right side, but I have an appointment this pm with the chiro to take care of that. I'm switching MW's this week, I'm dreading calling the old one and telling her, I just hate doing things like that. We just got a kitten so I'm getting a little baby fix, I've been carrying that thing all around the house.

I'll be 30 weeks in a few days. I feel like it's a milestone of some sort so I'm looking forward to that. I go in and see my midwives every two weeks now, which is kind of annoying since usually 2YO DD comes along and last time she was wracking havoc at the birth center (i.e. throwing things out of drawers, breaking candles, turning on the bide (sp.?) and spraying water everywhere, etc.). But of course I like being able to discuss how things are going and I'm always so curious what position my baby is in, so I like my visits for that reason.

Sleep is pretty lame around here too. I get very little deep sleep. I wake up about every 45 minutes during the night to pee or just because I can't get comfortable no matter what. This baby seems to be riding really low. The bottom of my belly often feels very heavy and aches. It is rather uncomfortable and worrisome at times but I keep telling myself that it is normal and he is just pretty low -- hence the pressure on my pubic region. (I swear that sometimes I feel him moving right behind my pubic hair -- he is that low! It must be a hand, hopefully not a foot). Peeing is still miserable too. It amazes me I still have 10 weeks to go! I have frequent B-H contractions too but nothing regular.

Oh, and of course, I'm still nauseous. On and off throughout the day. Still sometimes for several hours at a time. I gag and my body threatens to puke if I don't get a lemon drop candy in my mouth fast enough. I really thought it would be gone now. I seriously think I might feel this way up until the day I give birth, but really I try not to think about it too much. It is too depressing. I don't know what it feels like anymore to NOT feel this way. I can't imagine just not feeling nauseous.

The good part is that my mother decided to come and help me for two weeks! She surprised me on the phone last Sunday and then arrived on Thursday. She is coming again in September with my dad and then back in October for the birth. She is sooooooo great with DD and DD loves her. And she cooks, cleans, buys us food, gets along with DH great, etc. She really is super-amazing. I am definitely feeling less stressed and overwhelmed now that she is here. I wish she didn't live so far away (6 hour plane ride to HI) and that we could see each other more, but at least she is here now and I'm treasuring that!

I'm 29 weeks tomorrow and besides the hip pain and fatigue...I'm doing really good this pregnancy! In many ways, it's easier than my first pregnancy. I guess it's because I can't be the big baby I was then...I have a 3 year old baby now...

Our move went very well and I'm starting to feel settled in here. We've had a bit of a hard time finding a homebirth midwife, but I think we found her now! We'll be meeting her Wednesday! I can't wait...

I think we've bought almost everything we'll need for dd and for me post-partum.

Oh...I'm meeting with an MDC soon-to-be mama tomorrow and I'm super excited!

Life is good here...except for the majot exhaustion and hip pain!
I am officially cutting all ties with my OB that insurance pays for tomorrow and switching care to my homebirth midwife - who I have been seeing for the past two months anyway...
I am nervous only becasue I had pre term labor last time right around this time but things so far are OK. I got majorly dehydrated the other day and had like 10 contractions an hour for three or four hours - it is amazing how fast a pregnant woman can down a gallon of water to stop her contractions!
I am just enjoying the time I have left with Kiera as my only one to chase after - I love my dd soooooo much and can't wait to give her a sister!
: Hope you are all doing well and try to stay cool!

P.S> -I am swelling also - ankles??? What ankles???

I'm hanging in there as well.

I wish I could say I liked pregnancy...but I don't. I am excited to meet this little one but I am also glad to know that I won't go thru this again. Two children will complete our family.

I have constant heartburn. I've been thru one huge bottle of papaya enzymes since June and I'm off to the store to get more tomorrow. I'll use Tums to get me thru til then.

I had a midwife appt last week. I'm 28 weeks and everythign looks fine. Baby is head down and butt up under my ribs. It's really painful having that little hiney pushing my ribs out. I got a little break over the weekend when it shifted a bit but it's back under there now and I feel like I have a knife in my ribs. I am carrying this baby high and consequently have little lung room, stomach room and constant heartburn.

I'm going thru the sleep issue too. Just can't get comfortable.....

I keep telling myself that October is around the corner...but I am having trouble convincing myself!

Hi Mamas~
I am 29 weeks today and just had and appt. with my midwife. Babies are doing great, moving like crazy. Today when she was listening to the heartbeat the boy had the hiccups!
The girl was a little more difficult to find as her placenta is in front and she tends to hide behind it.

I am feeling pretty good except for fatigue that hits me so quickly. My iron is still really low so I am taking a supplement and my midwife has instructed me to include some red meat in my diet every day. So, my focus is getting my iron up. I saw my acupuncturist today and she worked on my blood building as well. I have only had swelling on a few of the hot hot days and no contractions so far.

I feel that I will carry these babies at least 38 weeks. Glad to hear from everyone!

Well, I guess I am 30 weeks now. I feel like I am expanding often overnight. I am not gaining a ton or anything, but this child is growing fast. I feel guilty that I am not better about my prenatal exercises, but the last week of our 100+ heat was horrid and I couldn't imagine raising my heart rate, even in the a/c house. This week is still hot and humid and I am uncomfortable. My body is shaped very differently compared to the past pregnancy and I can't find clothes that I feel comfortable in that I can wear in public. I am still breastfeeding my little girl, so dresses are out. Sigh! I am also trying to be more saavy about my snacking. I tend to go too long and don't get food in me fast enough. Been a slacker about my pregnancy tea too. I hope I get distracted from the way I am feeling soon. I can't imagine 2 more months of this!

Forgot to add that I am wide awake at night- with or without caffeine in my diet. I should be in bed, but I can't sleep!

31 weeks here!

I am feeling well other than battling heartburn constantly. I am also waking up 3-4 times a night to pee which is a hassle. No pain to speak of. I am walking 2 miles at least 5 days a week and I think that has helped to ward off the hip/joint pain (I had it really bad with baby #2).

Time seems to be creeping by and I am anxious to be done with this pregnancy and meet my little guy!

Big hugs to those of you that are having a hard time.

I am excited to see so many twins doing so well! Yay for growing babies!!

I am 29 weeks now and feeling okay. I wake up a lot at night, so feel tired most days, but it's not so bad now that the heat (90+ degrees every day in a country that doesn't believe in air conditioning) has broken. My other major complaint is that I was diagnosed with SPD last week, which had been manifesting itself as pain in my sacro-iliac joints. The pain is still there, but is noticeably less since I have been banned from riding my bicycle... We don't drive and I do miss the bicycle, though.

We are moving in about a month, so trying to get ready for that. I keep dropping hints that DP needs to be in charge of organising the moving business, since I am not carrying boxes around, but he's *thisclose* to finishing his PhD thesis and very distracted... He gets a real kick out of watching my belly move around, though.

hi everyone! i'm at 31 weeks and really cannot believe it. my baby boy does not stop moving and must really be getting his exercise in there.

it's definitely getting a little tougher to move around these days with the belly getting so much bigger. i'm a shorty; so, there's not much room for it go besides out in front of me. my back begins to hurt me earlier in the day than it used to, and i know i've got to get to walking more than i have, but it's just so darn hot here! excuses or not, i need to get back to it.

we have 3 more bradley classes, and i'm going to be sad when they are over. i've really enjoyed how much i've learned. also, this month is busy with wedding showers and baby showers. one of my best friends is getting married labor day weekend, and dh and i are both in the wedding; so, we're busy with that. then i have a baby shower next weekend and the one after that. i'm excited to see what we rack up on!

good luck to everyone. we're almost there ladies!!!

hi mamas,
i'll be 29weeks tomorrow and my girl has been breech for a few weeks now, so she often uses my bladder and cervix to practice her karate kicks and soccer style
-- and i'm starting to swell, the heat doesn't help that either.
we're getting ready to move and i've been trying to get everything done, but it's slow going with two boys that un-do all i try to do!!
anyway, this will be my last babe, so even though it's been a difficult pg, i'm trying to savor every moment of it....

This little guy has been quite active, too. He is transverse and rolls around for maximum kicking!!
It hurts sometimes. He kicked my cervix the other night and woke me up - OUCH!! I'm just trying to stay cool. I've been going to friends' pools as much as possible. When I get some energy and motivation I try to get as much done as I can, because I know it won't last.

My mom is in town right now and getting on my nerves
: I just don't do well with other people in my house - 6 days and counting . . .

I'm 30 weeks and counting! LOL
Seriously after al teh heart stuff in teh last week, and the fact that i can't eat, sleep or even rest I am looking forward to october sooner rather than later! Had blood work done friday for anemia and thyroid and other stuff (i guess) so that teh Dr can rule out those things as the cuase for my heart continuing to race and pound even at rest. (Although my Bo is unaffected as is my oxygen level!) So who knows. I'm tired adn crabby but still hanging in there. I go tomorow for an ultrasound just o chek position and size. Other than that not much going on here. I can't wait for some cooler weather, 90 degrees is too much for me. Now if we could only get that nursery ready so i can get al teh stuff out of my tub! LOL (We are remodeling and have a jacuzzi tub that is waiting ot be installed and it is full of the baby's stuff as his room isn't painted. Not htat he'll use it for a while but we are just wantign everythign to be done neore he arrives)

I'm 29 weeks and feeling pretty good. My little guy is moving around constantly!

DH is between grad school sessions right now, so we're trying to get some nesting done. We cleaned the heck out of the house this weekend and primed some furniture for painting. I've been trying to clean and sort baby clothes, but my DD keeps 'helping' with that, which only makes a bigger mess. I've got a list of freezer meals to prepare later this month and next, and I'll be ordering diapers later this week.

FIL and SMIL tried to invite themselves for a visit immediately following the birth, but DH put a stop to that. They're the sort who won't want to help, they'll just want to hold the baby and have a hissy fit about him spending too much time with me as we get nursing established. My family is already trying to interfere with nursing. My sister, who is a very mainstream OB nurse, gave us a big bag of formula samples this weekend. I had told her months ago that I'll be breastfeeding and failure will not be an option this time. But she thinks formula is essential for all babies and won't be swayed by any arguments. If I try to argue with her, she'll just bring me more of this stuff. So I'll quietly take this bag to the local food bank and see if they'll accept it.

Hey Ladies, it's good to see that other than regular discomforts you're all ok

I'm 29 weeks, and i'm loving it! my dh thinks i'm a baby monster because I want one or two more

I'm also having trouble sleeping, I have a pain in my pubic bone and my biggest issue so far it's been a feeling of constant yeast infection, I've done 2 treatments for it, but i feel that is there just waiting to come back, Dr gave a special soap, and mw told me to avoid drinks with HFCS (everything) or too much sugar.
Taylor (my baby girl) moves a lot, specially at night, DH and I are hoping this is not a sign that she'll be a night baby like I was. I used to wake up to play every night (says my mom).
Our other 2 girls are getting ready to start school, the little one is going to pre-k and she can't wait. Really exiting

As far as our nursery, we have nothing, when I read about all your to do lists I get a little anxious 'cause we don't have anything for her room (can't afford to buy it right now either), will see what we get from my little baby shower...
I love reading from other moms, thank you for having me
