No tylenol. INSIST that this be reported as a reaction- it is. Please don't let them talk you into any more until you research and feel 100% sure of your decision.

Vitamin c is about the only thing you can probably do at this point- take a ton yourself- he'll get it from your milk- sodium ascorbate.

no more, ever. ped is actually amenable to whatever we decide, i guess dh was just wishywashy. won't be anymore, for sure. spoke again to ped, he will report.

why not give the babe a little pain relief so maybe babe can get a little rest?

I agree with the no tylenol recommendation -- search here for a thread about tylenol with fever (that is, it's not good to give tylenol for fever). Others can probably explain the science of this - I'm sure it's in the old thread. I have it saved if you want me to email it to you - pm me. to you and your ds

Hugs to you mama! Don't be too hard on your hubby. I'm sure he's feeling bad enough as it is.

Glad it went well when you contacted your ped.

Yikes! I hope your ds is feeling better really soon!

Can someone link to the old thread about not giving tylenol? Was it something that was just vax related, or about not giving tylenol at all? I've given my dd Motrin when she's extremely uncomfortable or had a high fever (low ones we don't worry about obviously), and try to use homeopathics the rest of the time. I'm wondering if I made a big oops with that! Heck, I just gave her a dose of motrin yesterday because the hylands teething tabs were just not doing enough for her molar popping through (she was MISERABLE!). Anyway, sorry for the OT!

not sure how this works? this is one of the threads on here that has tons of info about fevers and anti-pyrotics (think that's the right term? today is a brain-scrambler for sure)
anyway, hth.

http://www.mothering.com/discussions...=tylenol+fever

I hope it's over for you too, how horrible. And least now you can rest knowing that DH is likely to have his confidence bolstered by this. Just a shame it had to cost your DC so sorely.

Good luck to you.

It has to be heart-breaking to see your little one in such distress. I would of been a wreck.

Whenever my DS has seen a doctor (only been there a couple of times...well-baby check-ups seem pointless for our extremely healthy 10 month old), my DH and I make it our top priority to both be there and never leave his side. There is power and strength in numbers. It is so easy to be cornered when one is alone.

I hope your DS recovers from the vax.

Hope the babe gets better . I bet your DH feels terrible . I know my hubby would. I don't think some people think about what goes into our kids as being toxic and hurtful if it is available from the doctor or pharmacist. I know prior to my baby's seizure to her 2 month shots, I never thought to question it at all and pretty much just trusted the doc. Now, I question everything. Nursing is amazing for comfort isn't it? poor darling.

A tad off topic but wanted to let celestialdrmrmama (Rebecca) see this post from me here about teething:

http://www.mothering.com/discussions...d.php?t=360690

You may be interested in trying number 1 and number 4 on that url above. By the time I go through my arsenal, I don't need to use anything over the counter for my daughter. A lot of people don't know that Motrin aka ibuprofen can be toxic to kids . I just pitched my tylenol too and am going with herbs for kids stuff and homeopathics. They have some things for fevers and colds too.

I just added gumomile to the teething arsenal too..from herbsforkids ...I did 1, 4 and gumomile tonight and my babe is out like a light.

Thank you mamas.

The night passed relatively peacefully -- much nursing, but not too fussy. This morning the baby is somewhat more fussy than normal and still sensitive to touch and light but better.

What a terrible way to get a firsthand education about how toxic these things are. When is Montezuma Tuatara's book coming out so I can get my hands on it?!

I have Stephanie Cave's book but it doesn't do the issue justice, I don't think. Off to the library to see about more enlightening literature to show dh and reinforce my research. Any suggestions?

We made our decision based on numbers. We looked at how many cases of each disease and how many deaths and looked at reactions (number, type etc) and vax deaths. The stats made it clear that vaxing is more dangerous than not vaxing.

When you get a moment...call the doctor and request the the doctor file with VAERS the reaction your son had...then firmly tell the doctor, "this is exactly why we are NOT vaccinating/delaying vaccinations. Put it in my babe's chart that there will be NO vaccinations...do not ask again...I'm very disappointed that you pressured my husband into this..."

You can report reactions on VAERS yourself:
Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS):
http://vaers.hhs.gov/

What “reportable events” are:
http://vaers.hhs.gov/reportable.htm

Reported Events:
http://vaers.hhs.gov/scripts/data.cfm

National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP)
http://www.hrsa.gov/osp/vicp/

HUGS to you!!!
