Not sure if its possible without stripping and refinishing,but can someone give me an idea on how to get the smell out? Its our older dog ( about 13) and he's going in the same spot.

Try Nature's Miracle Odor/Stain remover. You can get it a Pet supply stores.

I've used one of those enzyme cleaners from the pet store. It seems to have worked.
