Have trouble getting yourself motivated to clean or declutter?
Do things seem too overwhelming?
Have kids or a spouse who complain about pitching in?

Use a kitchen timer!

You can do anything if it's just 15 minutes a day, right? How bad can your kids complain about cleaning for ONLY 15 minutes? How can your spouse refuse to pitch in for just 15 measley minutes? Do you realize how much decluttering you can get done over the course of a month if you just do 15 little minutes a day?

Setting the timer makes you realize how much you can do in such a short amount of time. Fight the urge to "keep going"... that's how people burn out and clean one day and then quit for the rest of the year
Pace yourself.

I got a $4 egg timer at the grocery. It really motivates us

hmmm...I'll give it a try. I can handle 15 minutes...and have no internal time clock--so this may help. Thanks for the tip.
I've heard this a million times but never tried it. I think I'll go do it now! I have laundry to fold (like every day!), and for some reason I can't seem to start today.
