Ack!!!
We used a paper diaper (generic off brand) last Sunday. He wore it for about an hour (big sis was a soccer camp when he pooped twice and completely depleated our car stash.)
So being that we were in a pinch we went to the local Kroger store and picked up a pack of 'sposies.
He wore the thing for about an hour and peed in it. We took it off as soon as we got home. In the tub that night we noticed his bottom was red. And by morning his tushie was blistered!!!!

We called our Doc who called in an order for silver something or other (a burn cream) Doc said he had a chemical burn caused by the 'sposie.

By Saturday his bottom was so raw that he was bleeding out of his sores!!! : After a call to our Dr the PA on call said she wasn't coming in and that if we felt it was an emergency we could go to the ER.
So we did!
They looked at it and agreed that it was bad, but that it just had to run it's course and we should continue to air dry him and continue with the cream.

In the meantime we have called the store we bought them from and they offered us our money back that we put out for the diapers and a $25 gift card to use for gas. Our medical bills are taken care of with our insurance.
DH told the representative that $25 and our money back doesn't make up for the fact that our DS has been in pain all week long. I know people assume all babies have "diaper rash" but with our CD's we NEVER have had a rash. EVER!
And I would love for an adult to have their bottom as blistered as his was this past week! I bet no adult would let a $25 gift card resolve this matter.

So the rep told DH to call back tomorrow with what we think is fair.

What is fair?
We don't want to sue....although we have already called our lawyer just to get an opinion from him.
But what would you do?
It's not a name brand diaper...which if it was I would love for them to go on record and state that they put harsh chemicals in their ghetto diapers and that no child should ever wear them! But It's a national store chain that does not MAKE the 'sposies, they just carry them.
We have to call back tomorrow but can't even fathom what would "make it right" in the words of the representative.

Any suggestions???

I would pursue more reparations. Probably not actually suing them, but they should reimburse you somehow. More than $25!

I know a certain chain's diapers always gave my daughter a rash, but thank goodness it was never that bad.

Good luck!
