Three layers of hemp fleece is trim, trim trim!
I use a big rectangle of hemp french terry (about the same as fleece) folded into 8 layers plus a trifolded microfibre insert in my large HHs and even this is pretty trim. Plus they dry really fast and don't get stinky.

I just zigzagged the edges and after at least 6 months are holding up fine.
