I pride myself on doing a TON of research, and then making a decision about what I think will be best for my future family.....

However, I have had the most difficult time researching and finding solid data on vaccinations and why many AP parents choose to not vaccinate, or choose to delay or be selective in choosing what vaccines they will use.

Could I please get a quick Vaccines 101 course, as well as a few links that would be good for me to get information on this topic? Also, how does not having a vaccination record effect your child's participation in various activities (daycare, school, sports, camps, etc)? Is it required to have some form of waiver, or is it the really the law that you need to have a vaccination record? I work in a school and my school nurse swears that the school is not allowed to register students who do not have up to date vaccines, and that there are no exceptions to this rule.....True or not true????

Thanks for the info

The easiest way to go about your research is to research each individual disease first. Then research the vaccine that is supposed to prevent it. Breaking it down this way makes the task of researching vaccines much less daunting. As a whole, the topic of vaccinations used to make my head spin when I first began my research. A great place to start is the archives of this forum.

Not vaccinating does not affect my child's participation in any activities. We have an exemption for school, but vaccination records are not required for sports/camps, or any other activity outside school. Private daycares that don't receive any government funding do have the option to not allow your exemption, but the rest have to follow state laws regarding exemptions.

Not true. Every state has at least a medical exemption, and all but two have a religious exemption. Many also have a philosophical exemption. These exemptions are included in the laws regarding vaccinations and the schools must allow the exemptions within the law of the state.

http://www.nvic.org/state-site/state-exemptions.htm

A quick amazon search will bring up lots of books with the truth about vaccines data. Dr. Sherri TenPenney is also a great resource- google her!

Please consider researching "how" vaccine manufacturers conduct studies on the safety of their vaccines. It is very alarming!
